Ebay seller of FAKE Tokidoki bags karyna07 strikes again!

Reader Courtney recently bought a fake Tokidoki bag from ebay seller karyna07, and was nice enough to write up this guide to try to help others before she returned her fake bag:

I have been a fan of the tokidoki line since they came out. I own eight bags now…all that were bought through the store or directly from Lesportsac by phone. I saw a bag on ebay the other day that had the first edition print in the Nuvola style. I thought it was weird that they had the first edition print in the Nuvola since I didn’t remember seeing that style bag come out until after that editon. But I love the Nuvola, and just had to have it so I bought it on ebay. Luckily the ebay seller, karyna07, is going to refund me my money, but the other listings that she has now are non-refundable. I did contact ebay about the fakes. And after seeing your website, I thought that I should send some of the pictures of the fake I bought before I returned it. A few notes:

1. The ipod pocket has no hole for the earphones. It is also a lot smaller than the original and instead it has a tokidoki label sewn in place of the hole.

2. The top zipper that should open to a small pocket, instead just opens to the inside of the bag.

3. The lining of the bag is the right color, but it is missing the zippered pocket and the tokidoki label.

4. The zipper tabs are the wrong color. They are a matte silver color.

5. It is hard to see in the picture, but the printing is really bad. Parts of the bag were “hazy”.

6. The bag emanated a strong plastic smell.

7. The strap has plastic hardware instead of the metal.

My note to everyone reading – if you see a first season print bag style (or any other season for that matter) that does not exist in my Tokidoki Bag Archive, the bag is fake. It has been awhile since I have had the time to work on updating the archive, but I will be adding more to it today! I will also finish posting my Tokidoki collection photos soon.

  1. [...] 8. The auction does not specify the bag’s name and style number – sellers with real items will be able to provide you with this information, so that you can look the style up on the LeSportsac website or my Tokidoki Bag Archive to make sure that the style really exists and looks like it is supposed to. If you have never seen a Tokidoki bag in the style you see on ebay and can’t match it to any of the styles on my Tokidoki Bag Archive or the LeSportac website, it is fake! Fake bags are also sometimes sold as a “set” of two bags, even though no Tokidoki bags are officially sold as sets.  Fake Tokidoki bags also sometimes come in bag styles that were never available in some prints. And no matter what, NEVER buy from her. Hate her.

  3. Anne says:

    It’s karyna07 NOT karyan07!!

  4. Courtney (not the one that bought the bag) says:

All of the one this seller has also have a small metal ball chain and not the big one that comes with the real bags. So disappointing! I’m just getting into buying tokidoki bags, but this kind of seller makes me weary of ever buying one off of ebay.

  5. DJ says:

To Courtney (not the one that bought the bag): Don’t let this deter you form buying on Ebay. 99% of the sellers are legitimate and it really irks them when this happens! If you don’t know how to spot a fake or have a question, you can always contact the seller. You neeed to be aware of the subtlties of the original. To the Courtney that bought the bag, thank you for the warning, I bid on one of the bags but luckily did not win it.

karyna07 has just listed 8 more fake tokis, including another fake “original print” nuvola just like the one pictured here — but now she has it listed as paradiso!

The “Tokidoki Handbag- Orignal Print” of Karyna07’s ‘green’ zipper pulls look like she read the fakes guide & painted them green to make the bag appear real. they look too matt & not shinymetal-y like they should.. http://i5.ebayimg.com/06/i/000/9a/d1/167e_1.JPG
AND she has TONS of feedback about things being fake.. a lot of them are en français & lots of mention of ‘hong kong.’
    She bothers me.

  8. allison says:

    *matte; not matt

  9. jade says:

it dosnt look fake.. but since it is! shes really skilled to actually made a fake toki bag.. it does require alot of effort and skills to make! .. does the price worth the same as the original, or is this much much cheaper? .. if it is very cheaper, do u think its worth it? since i couldnt tell it was fake!

  10. g.gar says:

look at the underside of the zipper and the letters riri are engaved on authentic lesportsac tokidoki. If not, it’s a fake

  11. Meredith says:

Has anyone bought a real tokidoki off of eBay? If so, who was the seller? I’d like to get an older print from a reputable source. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

  12. Tricia says:

Meredith, hi, I sell Lesportsac Tokidoki on ebay and they are all authentic. Unfortunately I do not have any in the older prints except two Trenino’s in Citta and Citta Rosa. Whoever wrote the tip about the zippers with riri on the bottom, thanks. I will now start taking pics of the underneath of the zipper. I did not know that.

  13. thankks for the tip everyone!!!!! :)

  14. Ali says:

So my mom just got me a trokidoki bag from a website. In the pic they showed it looked real…and it must have been but when I got it its not at all. The label says ProSports, and at first it looks and feels like the real thing but if you look very close you can see that it is not the stop ripe kind of bag. I mean other then that it looks kinda of good. it just would have been nice if it was the real thing…

p.s. when I went back to the website to see if i could get my moms money back the website had been shut down… So its a good thing that they cant take anyones money agein but I STILL WANT MY REAL THING!!!.. keep you eyes out, just becuase its a real bag in the pic does not mean what you will get is real!

  15. Jasmine says:

who cares? it’s still really cute. it all looks the same

  16. Shannon says:

I bought a tokidoki backpack. I bought the product on a website (much like ebay) called “ioffer.com”. unfortunitly when it arrived the bag was a FAKE! The seller’s user name is “abcollection”. His profile/webpage is “http://www.ioffer.com/users/abcollection”. He sells MANY tokidoki bags and other designer products. The tokidoki is FAKE. DO NOT BUY from this seller.

  17. Eugenia says:

hmm, I got a duffel bag and purse of tokidoki and it says “ProSports”. I think it looks fine, and the one above says LeSportSac and nobody looks at the inside of it so people will think it’s real. Whatever if it’s fake, at least it looks cute!!

  18. Olivia says:

I don’t care how cute it looks,it has to be real,if it’s not,I don’t want the crap. I saw this lady with a Tokidoki bag,it was probably fake,I should have looked a bit closer. Anyway, that bag looks funny, the shape is wrong! I can’t believe there are so many people making tokidoki fakes..ew

  19. Susie Helton says:

That is really infuriating, I can understand wanting something that you cannot afford and there being a market…but it makes it that much more confusing for people that want to purchase a real one. I will not be buying any bags off ebay, I guess I will wait for some to be rereleased to get some of the older prints

  20. Grace says:

This is a little late, I’m sure, but user ny-parker is one of the many sellers trying to sell fake tokidoki bags.

  21. Helene says:

I just bought the nuvola spiaggia from karmaLoop and it is missing the chain and the tickets were in the front pocket. When I go back to the website the pictures don’t show a chain on the bag. Is it supposed to have one?

  22. Valeria says:

    Hi everyone,
I just bought an Avventura Fumo bag from ebay and when it arrived it had the adios qee attached and not the one I usually see pictured on that bag. Was it ever made with the adios qee? thanks!

  23. Hannah says:

i just recently got a tokidoki bag from new york and i love it. But…its label says Prosports, and when i asked a lady that was selling the bags she said that the bag was fake. Is It? thnxs

  24. Hannah – Yes, it’s fake. All of the “Prosports” bags being sold in Chinatown are fake. The labels should read “LeSportsac.”

  25. Susy says:

I see tokidoki fake bag in a store called Hippie Chic at Calvì in Corsica

  26. Michelle says:

I have a fake like this, i got it at a china town shopee , And thats my bag. But the Quee was like, this thin [ ] and rubber……. FAKE :O:O:O I new it was….
Eugenia, i agree, no one will really know its a total fake bag! Hey, i cant spend 200.00 on a bag!

  27. Mikaru says:

If the bag says ProSports defo fake.
There’s a shop were I live in the UK that sells these they look nothing like the original.
My friend bought me an original and I’ve noticed that fakes fabric can be discoloured/errors on the design you have to examine every bag carefully because sometimes the fakes are so damn close to the original.

  28. Sue from Canada says:

    Hi there!

I just wanted to let everyone know that in Ottawa, Ontario Canada (not that many of you live here), all Mrs. Tiggywinkles and Lost Marbles stores are selling FAKE TOKIDOKI bags. Some of the prints are real prints but fake bags and there’s even some that are totally random prints that never existed. One of them looks like the colour scheme from Vacanze but has nana stars and some other characters (not at alll what’s on the real Vacanze). The zippers are not even close to the real thing and there’s no RIRI or anything indicating that they are real. The quality of the bag is a dead giveaway.

They sell for 35$ and I had a HUGE argument with a staff member who insisted they are real. They’re NOT!

  29. Evelyn says:

Is dreams-come-true-shop a real tokidoki seller because I found half of the right things but they don’t show the other two. They have the right zipper and the right clip.

  30. sylvie says:

I went to Antwerp (Belgium) and i bought a bag, (there were only two of them in that tiny shop)
i didnt know about tokidoki then , but i liked the prints on it so i bought it for 12 euros.
it also says “prosports” and has a fake(non-tokidoki) zipper.

  31. Esme M says:

three years ago i had bought a fake “tokidoki” “lesportsac” bag i thought i was so cute, well i was 9 years old but now i realised it says prosports not lespotsac it looks so real like every detail of the pattern looks alike. exept it says prosports.

  32. FAKE with a different name? says:

If the bag says PROSPORT on it, it is screaming to you that it is a PROSPORT bag, the fact it looks similar to Le Sport Sac bags does not matter as it is CLEARLY saying it is not Le SPORT Sac bag. So why is one a fake, when it is not claiming to be a Le Sport Sac bag?

Does the red car with round wheels made by GM mean that the Red car with round wheels from Crysler is a fake??? I don’t think so.

Does my purse from Gucci which is white in color and the same design (nearly 90% the same) as my other white purse from Coach mean the Coach one is a fake??? I don’t think so.

If you want to buy a Le Sport Sac, then you buy a Le Sport Sac bag, if you want to by a Prosport then you buy a Prosport, neither is fake as they are both differing brands with a similar colourful print, like white purses??

  33. Ashley says:

    I agree with Jasmine.
