An anonymous reader was nice enough to send in this photo showing the most convincing of the fake Tokidoki qees right above a real Tokidoki qee for comparison.

If you look closely, you can spot a number of differences:
1. The real qee has a red star on its left arm, and the fake one does not.
2. The real qee has a thicker, smoother keyring than the fake qee does.
3. The yellow stripe in the rainbow on the fake qee’s chest is much wider.
4. The real qee has black marks on its left ear, and the fake qee does not.
5. The real qee has a pink heart on it’s left cheek, and the fake qee does not.
Seems like on the fake qee, there is no pink heart on the right cheek like the real one – it’s like playing ’spot the difference’ between two qees!
this is great info- thanks for sharing
Ooh Susan you are right, I will add that find to the list.
Does anyone know if the metallic tokidoki qees on ebay are real or fake? I wanted to buy, but not sure if the deal is too good to be true. The item number on Ebay is: 260159076865-for 6 qees. Thanks!
[...] 2. The bag has a first season tokidoki print with a qee from the later seasons attached, or the attached qee looks fake. The first season tokidoki print bags came with either a blue Meomi cat qee or a pink Dalek qee with a “5″ on its chest attached. First season tokidoki print bags did NOT come with the white qees with the flower face, except for the tokidoki Black bags. Check out a comparison of a real qee versus a fake qee. [...]
Sorry I’m not too sure where to post this. I recently brought a adios star print bag with a qee just like the real one above. However, my younger brother was playing with my bag earlier today and ripped off the head. Has this ever happened to anyone? Is there any warranty on the qee? Cuz I bought this bag when I was in Hong Kong and now I’ve returned to Canada. Any help would be highly appreciated!
vikki – There is no warranty on the qee. (Even if there was, it wouldn’t cover an incident like a little brother ripping the head off anyway.) You can just pop the head back on again though, no?
tonyro- the metallic qees used to be sold on the lesportsac website, but recently, i think that tokidoki lost the rights to the qee, so they took the qees, along with the metallics, with them
wow.. that is a really good knockoff!
if i were to just glance at it, i don’t think i will be able to tell… except for the keyring part… o.o
Thank very much!
I’ll tell to my friends , loving tokitoki in Japan.
I Have Also Noticed On Its Right Ear, On The Real The Small Lines Are Black AND Red, Where As On The Fake They Are Just Black.
look at their mouths… the real one is to the side and the fake one isnt…. damn you fakes!
oh yeah… and if you read the printing… (real)”tokidoki to LeSportsac” … (fake)”tokidoki for LeSportsac” glad i could be of help =]]
ducky, I think you are a little confused by glares of light on the qees. The placement of both mouths is the same (a light flare is partially covering the real qee’s full mouth) and again same thing with the “for” – both read “tokidoki for LeSportsac.”
This is really good information. Thankyou for sharing, this will be useful for when I go to China because I want to see if they sell tokidoki bags there. However I have been told they are very good at faking so this is just the kind of useful stuff I want to hear! I wish I could find out if the bags I currently own are fakes. Unfortunately I cannot do anything about them if they are but I would still like to know so I do not purchase any more from the shop. Anyone know how I can send a picture of my bags and get them “tested” for “fakeness? Thanks XD
Is it just me, or does the fake qee miss the orange marks on it’s right ear? o.o They all look black/dark green to me, where as the real one definately has some orange ones.. Or are they red-ish?
Kitty – It’s not just you.
Check the text under the photos – #4 specifically.
