SAN JOSE SAN JOSE CALIFORNIA ! Besides we have a bigger population than San Francisco . And we had to drive when only the cool stores were in the city. And more stores carry Tokidoki in the city than us .(But we are catching up !) What kind of items will they carry ? Since the Lesportsac collection is about to end .More importantly will the store ship to the US ?

Pfft, they’d put a store in San Francisco before San Jose (I live slightly closer to SJ than SF). San Jose is not a fashion capital. There’s a reason why all good stores are up in the city.

well, americans got pretty much all the lesportsac bags, now its turn for italians to get something without having to pay overseas shipping and obscene ebay prices, considering simone is italian. plus, milan is one of the biggest fashion capitals of the world.. its a fair deal.

I must disagree with the statement that San Jose is any less fashionable with San Francisco . Santana Row which has amassed quite a collection of high end designers as well as lodging , bars , restaurants , as well as great shopping . Not to mention our expanding downtown area with museums , galleries , clubs, as well as great shopping . In a recent poll it showed San Jose had the highest annual household incomes of those in other counties San Francisco included . And for being a city larger in population than San Francisco we are still a safer city to live in based on another recent poll. I think there are other cities in the bay area that just as fashionable as San Francisco . But I must agree nothing beat Milan .Not even San Francisco !

I’m not too impressed with Santana Row–less designers than my usual haunt, the Stanford Shopping Center, which has Tokidoki bags at both Macy’s and Nordstrom!
Besides, all of the money in SJ belongs to the hi-tech nerds. And we ALL know they can’t dress 
I have a feeling if Tokidoki were to open a store in the US, it would have to be in either LA or NYC. Just makes sense that way

I think a Tokidoki store would do EXTREMELY well at Santana Row in San Jose! It would be a perfect fit alongside the rest of the stores in the mall.

Thanks Kells ! I’m in agreement with you. In fact OUR Valley Fair Nordstrom already has Trasporto in their current stock with Macy’s soon to follow . Last time I had checked the stock at Stanford Shopping neither had them in stock . Also just to let you south bay Tokidoki lovers there is a boutique called Purist and they too have their shipment of Trasporto in . They are located in Downtown San Jose . On a side note I have been blessed to be a stay at home mom to my one year son Mason . We are lucky that I am able to stay at home with only my husband’s income as our sole support .And he is not a hi-tech nerd he is in sales and my husband knows how to dress thank you very much !

Ok, what’s up w/all the bashing? No one has a say as to where there will be the next Tokidoki store but Simone & his people. As for “High-Tech” nerds…you guys wouldn’t have all this cool tech gear (i-pods, computers, laptops, etc) w/o people like them who have the knowledge & creativity to design them. Anyways, who cares about how others dress? Everyone has their own style so if you care about what someone is wearing, then why don’t you spend your time & $ to go and dress them the way you think they should look? Geez, what are we…still back in high school?

Veronica - thanks for the tip on Purist! I am a little late to catch on to the Tokidoki bags and am on a mission to collect some of the older prints as well as get as many of the current ones. Every store seems to have something slightly different. Macy’s and Metropark in Oakridge Mall both seem to be forgotten places as well.
This addiction is going to keep me broke! But I love it!
In all honesty, I would imagine stateside Tokidoki stores in LA and NY, and only elsewhere if it seemed to be advantageous. We bay area fans can hope and dream, though!

Hi-tech nerds = overwhelmingly male = not Tokidoki’s target audience. I also happen to be a hi-tech nerd as well, but I am female, which technically makes me an anomaly
I’m not claiming anything is better than the other. I live in Silicon Valley, just like most of you SF Bay Area folks, but I’ve only lived here for year, so these are my “outsider” observations.
That said, the SF Bay Area in general would only have a shot in heck in getting a Tokidoki store. Milan made total sense–Simone is from Italy and Milan is the THE Italian fashion capital.
I have a feeling LA would be next. If you look at the official Tokidoki blog, most of the events Simone attends in the US have been in LA. And the turnout for Tokidoki at those events has been really good.

Jennifer and Paulie I was bashing no one . It just bothers me when someone bashes my city calling it un-fashionable and filled with hi-tech nerds. If you read my post I was only pleading my city’s case which is where I live San Jose . I was merely making points as to why our city is just as fashion forward as San Francisco . I would’nt call it bashing nor do I feel the need to grow up . We are’nt allowed to respond to something that bugs you ?I agree Jennifer as to what you said we would’nt have all our gadgets without people in high tech .I never said mine was better Paulie as I’ve staed I think I should be allowed to post a reply if something had bothered me in a previous post .

Veronica, if you weren’t bashing anyone, then by your definition I wasn’t either. I wasn’t bashing San Jose–I merely said that SJ isn’t a fashion capital. SF has a fashion week, SJ does not. That is a fact, clear and simple. And I don’t know what is so offensive about saying a particular area has full of hi-tech nerds. In general, they (1) are highly educated, (2) are financially well-off, (3) work very hard, and (4) usually don’t care or have enough time to bother with details such as fashion. Some of you are taking things a tad too personally.
I’d say we should all rejoice when the first Tokidoki store comes to the US, wherever and whenever it comes.

I am a San Jose native and would agree that SJ is not a fashion capital; however, SJ has a lot of money to spend and a good number of us nerds do have fashion sense. It just so happens that those who do not really stand out. It has been my observation that the men are the ones who put more of an emphasis on gadgets/electronics, cars, homes, and buying whatever their girlfriend might want while the women do a good job with the fashion thing.
The reason why SJ is not a fashion “capital” is because nothing influential or innovative that comes out of SJ ever makes it out of SJ. I think SJ is more consumer-driven and follows trends rather than being fashionably influential.
I have seen a lot of girls with Tokidoki bags here. In fact, I hadn’t quite noticed the bags until I saw a girl with one and immediately returned my L.A.M.B. bag for three Tokidoki bags.
