It just so happens that those who do not really stand out. It has been my observation that the men are the ones who put more of an emphasis on gadgets/electronics, cars, homes, and buying whatever their girlfriend might want while the women do a good job with the fashion thing. The reason why SJ is not a fashion "capital" is because nothing influential or innovative that comes out of SJ ever makes it out of SJ. I think SJ is more consumer-driven and follows trends rather than being fashionably influential. I have seen a lot of girls with Tokidoki bags here.
