Update on tokidoki x Hello Kitty
For those who have been wondering what is going on with the tokidoki x Hello Kitty collaboration, this photo of a tokidoki x Hello Kitty bag that is going to be released in Spring 2008 in Japan only has surfaced:
Still no word yet on exactly when the jewelery or any other items that might come out of this collaboration will be released.

okay. so, i love the fact that hello kitty is dressed up as sandy.
that said, i’m glad that i don’t like the bag itself.
i really don’t like the gold/metallic-y bits.
i’m excited about the jewelry though. ^_^

At first when I saw it I was like omfg! But taking a 2nd look of it makes you think again. I love Hello Kitty and tokidoki but I don’t think the bag suits well enough for me.

Its kinda cute, but I don’t know…I can’t afford many more purses after the lesportsac, that drove a mac truck though my wallet. If they aren’t too horiblly expensive maybe something small, T-shirts would be cute I think

i just wish i still worked at sanrio! it’s pretty cute, but the japan exclusive KT bags almost always just look like HE designer knock-offs. but there could be cell jewelry, stationery, wallets, etc that could all be very cute, even if the bag isn’t so hot.

I like the bag but I’d prefer a different style. The thing is … this is a Japan only release so there’s no need to go crazy over this unless you can somehow get it shipped from there. Plus wouldn’t it be crazy expensive?

Hm… I do think that bag is cute, though I’m not sure whether I like it in gold… I mean, Kitty dressed as Sandy is adorable - but I don’t think it goes well with the rest (green & gold = nah…) Anyway I do look forward to this collaboration! I’ve loved Hello Kitty for many years but somehow grew out of it and started to love tokidoki instead - so this is a dream come true

I am not feeling this at all. Looks to mass market to me. I don’t care for the gold, the style of the bag or the layout of the artwork. JMHO
Guess I can focus on enjoyng my TD 4 LSS bags finally.

TokidokiAngel has a good point - this bag is going to be released in Japan only, so any of us who don’t live in Japan are going to have a hard time getting ahold of it unless it shows up on eBay…. at eBay prices.
koo_ki_tokidoki - This bag is not yet available, it is due to be released in Spring 2008 in Japan.

some japan-only items are released at sanrio flagships, inc. times square, SF, san jose, ala moana, aventura mall, etc. since this is “designer” then there IS a pretty darn good chance sanrio’s momoberry store in beverly center and the ala moana store would get them, since they both stock a lot of high end KT stuff (like KT heatherette, tarina tarantino, KT ipod, etc.) i think beverly center would do a charge send, but probably not the HI store.
japan exclusives (called “special goods”) usually come out about four months later in the US than they did in japan. at this point right now the higher-ups would know whether or not it’s coming, but the store managers probably wouldn’t know yet. after xmas, you might be able to find out from some store managers.
maybe i should call and see if adrian is still the manager at the san jose store.

I adore both Tokidoki and Hello Kitty, but I am not sure I like this bag as much as I thought I would.
Maybe in person it will look better, but there’s something about it that almost looks cheap. Maybe in person it will be better. And I hope some different styles will be promising.
Then again, my bank account will thank me for not having to have this!

ashley - I don’t know what brand is making the bags yet - I’m thinking it might just be Hello Kitty and tokidoki themselves? Like for the original European release tokidoki bags - but that’s a guess.
