Reader Cleofe sent in this exciting news: she talked to a shop owner who said that his store will be carrying a new line of tokidoki bags in 2008! According to the shop owner, who said that he met with Simone, next year tokidoki is releasing their own line of bags that will be distributed and marketed by LeSportsac, but won’t be LeSportsac bags. So, those of us who were hoping to give our wallets a rest in 2008 might be out of luck.
This is all the info that I have right now, but if I hear anything else, I’ll post an update.
I hope this is true! Yay! xD
Ooh, fingers crossed!
Yayyyyyyyy!!!!
wow..hopefully, it’s true!
I’ve just gotten into tokidoki and now I’m a huge fan! I would love to get new releases!
I hope that they’re a little cheaper, my wallet can’t take another year of Lesportsac priced bags!!
omg!!!!! yay.
does that mean the current lesportsac bags are to go up in price?
omg! omg! omg! YAY!!! =D
… my poor poor wallet
Man, not a good time to be a poor graduate student, lol.
Hm… Maybe the fact that those new bags won’t be “real” lesportsac bags means they will be a little cheaper as well? That would be even more awesome!
auuuugggghh!!!!
I am excited about this, but this on top of the Onitsuka Tiger collaboration is going to MURDER my bank account next year.
hi all… sorry to have to say this, but i was informed that they are priced the same as td for lesportsac bags.
to skepticism… i know. it’s a deadly combination and i’m going to be so broke!!
ARRRRRRGGHHH! I too was hoping they would be less expensive.
Regular LeSportsac bags are cheaper than Tokidoki ones- so the 2008 bags not being branded LeSportsac would seem to have no effect on price in my opinion.
I see it’s already been confirmed by the op.
I’m gonna expect that the bags will be the same prices or possibly more expensive. I mean lets face it, tokidoki stuff was never cheap in the first place.
Yay! I’m glad there will be more! Hopefully they’re not to pricey…
x_x *clings to her wallet*
Good lord! So much for buying a house!! I’m not going to even have money for groceries at this rate! C-a-n-t s-t-o-p *gasp*
dangit I only work part time! >:o stop!!!!!!
OMG, mixed feelings. love new stuff but need second job to support this addiction.
I hope the bags are of different quality. kinds tired of the lesportsac ripstop nylon. I want a more substantial bag.
loving the sneak peek of the HK collabo, too bag only in Japan
that is good and bad news! good – because I love toki bags and bad – for my wallet! lol
my money…. T-T!
oh well… i love wasting money so i hope this is true >.>;
i don’t mind payin for tokidokis, so i’m just hoping the prints are as good as inferno, foresta or paradiso in terms of “gottahaveitness”… i haven’t been LOVING the new ones so far :T
TARTER SAUCE! Simone has done it again! My wallet is going to be in huge pain! Hope the bags aren’t so pretty even though on the inside I hope they are.
AHHH!! yayayayaya more tokidoki !! I agree I too wanted to give my wallet a rest in 2008. ;p
That’s a good news.
Oh no! Oh yes! I don’t know how I feel. I LOVE the LeSportsac bags much more than the older European Tokidoki line of bags. And if they’re being distributed and marketed by LeSportsac, I would venture a guess they will be similar to the current line of bags. Oh no, I fear for my wallet once more. I thought I was going to finally be able to recover from this addiction. Arrrghh, but yayyy!!!
“next year tokidoki is releasing their own line of bags that will be distributed and marketed by LeSportsac, but won’t be LeSportsac bags.”
I hate to sound dumb, but does this mean it won’t have the same LeSportsac style or it will, it’s just that they will have their own style?
I’m super happy they will get more bags though!
I want to buy Tokidoki Nwt QEE Scola Vacanze-Christmas 9517 2682
My friend is a manager at metropark and she got to meet Simone and he told her the same thing about the bags. They are going to be distributed by Lesportsac, but not bear the Lesportsac logo. I guess this will give Simone more creative freedom, and its the first time Lesportsac has ever done this. I bet the bags will be incredible!!! So its isn’t over after all!
Thanks Rachel – with two store managers now saying the same thing, I think it’s safe to believe that it’s true.
wow yay!!! hey – at least you guys don’t need to pay shipping to New Zealand!!! – imagine me twice broke as peeps in the states
Hi, how many different patterns has simone designed for lesportsac bags?
I wish we can see a sneak peek of the print for 2008!!!
Geez I wish these distributers and big brands would stop forgetting about the HUGE market they have north of the border! Canadians don’t have access to any of this stuff – all my tokidokis except for ONE have been purchased online in one way or another which means shipping charges, duty, and *gasp* brokerage fees!!! arrrrr…. I think i will have to give up soon! Getting way too frustrating! On the plus side I have only run into ONE other person with one in the last year… so lots of jealous stares
tee hee
a reply for squeekysue…
Where in canada do you live…here in the lower mainland of B.C. I was able to buy many of the prints at the satchel shop. the prices were reasonable. also, some shoe stores are now selling them. I have a us address and if I need something I cant get here…I will have it shipped to this po box…I avoid all the fees you list and delivery is cheap….
…also try “craigslist” it is like ebay but local…
OMG I really hope this is true. I hope they’ll come in lower prices too… I’ve missed my direct chance to but a tokidoki bag and now I totally regret it. Plus they have no more prints unless this is true. Once again I really hope so…
And it better be released everywhere, like not just Hawaii. lol
I just saw the carnival print on the tokidoki.it website( its hard to see it but you can see it in the new pictures) and it is sooo cute! I am so obsessed with tokidoki but I can’t be selfish with the money especially because I feel bad if I spend it all because of my husband….pooh! BUT instead of having alllllll those bags I’m going to get tats of some tokidoki characters one or two from each print that was ever out…that way they are on me forever! ciao
I think I read somewhere that the tokidoki bags would be priced higher than tokidoki for lesportsac. I think it was an ezine article but I’ll have to get back on that.
Does anyone know when the bags will be available for preorder- and where?
thanks!
just did a quick search and saw the price info on a wickipedia search of tokidoki…i know…i know…not the best source. i could have sworn i saw it on another site though.
new2toki – The new tokidoki bags will indeed be priced a bit higher than the tokidoki for LeSportsac bags. They are also already available for pre-order from Pulse (and possibly other stores, Pulse is the only one I know of for sure).
Is this about this bags??but are too much cute for me…(^^)
seem to Tokidoki for LeSportsac.

Melinda posted it in ‘New Stuff and Sales’
cereza – The 2008 line of bags is CONFIRMED now (this is a really old post), and yes that link shows the first print. More info:

i hope new collection include
guys bag eg messanger bag
guys would not look good holding any of the prints…it’s a little to colorful for any guys taste…what they should do is use lesportsac men’s bag design and subtle put the characters on the bag, like the solid colors for the girls…
I think that if you’re guy and you like the bag prints, then you should carry one. Arbitrary notions of what is or is not acceptable for either gender to do confound me.
i was just mentioning that the earlier prints are made for girls…after posting what I posted, I found that tokidoki made a bag from one of their camo prints that’s more like a unisex bag…now that’s more acceptable than if I was to carry one around with fishes (even though I think it’s cute, it’s more geared towards women)…but I have nothing against anyone liking anything… =)
I just don’t agree with the whole “made for girls” mindset in general – I think that anyone should be able to do, wear, or act however they want without feeling confined by a narrow set of rules of what is “acceptable.”
