Foresta Re-Release Hits eBay
As expected, the flood of extremely marked-up Foresta re-release bags has begun to hit eBay. After checking out the prices, I’m thankful that I already have enough Foresta bags in my collection. The new Foresta re-release bags look exactly like the original release, which I find a bit disappointing, except that they have Adios keychains instead of tokidoki for LeSportsac white bear qees.

o! there’s a foresta avventura on ebay. the avventura wasn’t around for the original release was it?
ah well, i guess i won’t be getting one. i had my heart set on a bambinone, but not for $100+ over retail. :/

I’m disappointed in that as well
and resellers are kinda blahy. luckily I jumped on the toki band wagon when foresta was still around so it was my first bag :3 I’m content for now and I think the prices are just insane sometimes

kiesha - I didn’t notice the Avventura at first - it wasn’t around for the original release of Foresta, so that is something new.

I had a strong feeling this was going to happen.
I’m glad I bought my Stellina and Ciao Ciao off eBay when I did and that I didn’t wait for the re-release. The Stellina was at retail (used) and the Ciao CIao was about $30 over retail (NWT). I had a Ciao but sold it slightly over retail (basically what I paid for it)… Glad the person who bought it (a TP/LJ member) was able to get one at a decent price. I could not flip a bag, especially when I dislike flippers so much.

Frick. It’s like HAND OVER YOUR FIRST BORN CHILD! prices. I’m hoping there might be some left when I hit Hawaii in early January. Doubtful, but still hoping.

from what I’ve been reading on TPF practically everything is sold out. One woman walked out with a whole box of mamma mias. Thats just wrong. They should put a limit. When I go to buy MAC makeup they don’t let you have any more than 3 of each type..those will all keep popping up for 100 over..ARGH..darn the resellers…

I read that the women who bought a box of Mamma Mias was everyone’s “favorite” over seller on Ebay. Makes me mad too how management let that happen, poor judgement in my opinion. I bet there are a lot of complaints, especially since these are items are limited edition to begin with.

I know - letting people buy so many when you know they are going to turn around and sell them at a profit…I hope they are paying their taxes! haha but seriously…I want a foresta so badly! especially a ciao or a ciaociao - I guess I’m going to be paying an arm and a leg!

Does anyone know about having bags shipped from the stores in Hawaii? I called and shipping isn’t bad but their prices are much higher than here in the states - $83 for denaro and 140 something for the ciao…you must pay with a money order. Has anyone had anything shipped from there?

I am……….. choked. Urgh, I really want some Foresta bags but I am totally not paying the price that these people are asking for. I know everyone is out just watching their own, but still. Be reasonable. Darn it!

They had a limit of five on each style, I asked about the box. So I think the box was just for carrying different styles? With the higher Hawaii prices and ebay and paypal fees sellers like that Aquarius really aren’t making much of a profit. I doubt any will be left in January the salesgal said that they used the last of the fabric but that they have the rights to some of the other prints. She did say that the Lesportsac store wouldnt be doing the inferno or paradiso.

I have no idea why Hawaii Lesportsac sells the bags super expensive…I heard someone say like in the mainland for a bag at 160.00 in hawaii it will be about 180.00 - 190.00…I wanted a ciao ciao tutti, and it was going for 190.00 at the lesportsac store here in hawaii…

In Hawaii our markup is horrible! i bought a zucca for $222 which is mainland retail of $184? and my friend bought an avventura for $254 i believe…

I know the prices are ridiculous!! but in reality depending on the bag the seller is making about $40 profit. A mamma mia is selling for $165 after taxes and thats $60 over but doesn’t include the listing costs and final value fees of posting it on ebay. I know its $100 or so than what we pay here on the mainland, but its not much if you’re used to Hawaii prices..
I wanted to also know before splurging on ebay… Is this re-release happening once (like once it happens it’s done) or will they restock for a few months and then stop?

Well the really nice sales gal that always seems to be on the ball and have all the info said they used up all the fabric and that they might have a few more boxes in the warehouse but that this was it. Kaput
But more prints are on the way just dont know which ones yet???? Has anyone heard????
Before ebay I would check on craigslist hawaii there is a posting about that says tokidoki foresta at cost with request for a small donation for time.

Yeah, it is a shame that the prices are high. But really how else are us main-landers supposed to get a Foresta other than on eBay? The only way is by someone buying and reselling. And they’re not selling them for any more than the original Forestas are going for. If there weren’t resellers, only Hawaii girls would get to have the bags. That hardly seems fair either.

Hawaii is considered “international” therefore our prices are a bit higher than what it would cost on the mainland as the cost of shipping is factored into the Hawaii retail cost - not to mention the sales tax that has gone up this past year :(.
In order for us to purchase Lesportsac close to what it retails for on the mainland we have to wait until it goes to the outlet
and even waiting for that the styles are VERY VERY VERY limited.
I’ve noticed Coach and Lesportsac retail is set higher because of Hawaii’s international status.

So it’s true that Le Sportsac will be re-releasing a style in the spring time in the mainland or is the only re-release going to be the foresta in hawaii.

I’ve been wanting a Foresta Avventura…but of course, not living in the US makes the news flow to us much slower…so I’ve missed out…
If anyone does have one…PLEASE let me know. I’m totally in love with the Foresta.

I just talked to the sales clerk at the Lesportsac Ala Moana and what he said is that there contract with tokidoki has expired and they have 8 months only to do any type of re release of the tokidoki prints so after that anyone who has one is a very lucky gal. I want a pirata diaper bag but 200 plus on ebay is too much for the fact that I am soo afraid of buying a fake. you can find fakes every where here in Hawaii, sigh real life pirates messing with my pirata print.
