Spring II 2008 Collection for Men Released
JapanLA just let me know that they got their shipment of Spring II tokidoki 2008 clothing for men in - they added 4 new hoodies and 5 new t-shirts to their online shop. The new hoodies include an all-over LP record print that is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the one that Simone has been wearing recently:

[ *curses for missing the Italian version on eBay* ]
And here are a few highlights of the other items - I think that the designs and colors are quite different from what we would usually expect from tokidoki.

I sense some possible Bape & Ice Cream influence - what do you all think?

hey! i just pointed that out 2 entries before! lol
i want to get the records hoodie in mens size S. i don’t see how that would be a problem fitting

Oh gosh, I need to step up the pace with my comment-reading today then. I need a headset that beams all 9723023023 pieces of tokidoki news that has come out this week to me while I am away from the computer.

I totally feel the BAPE vibe. It’s definitely not what I would expect, but it does reflect the L.A. feel. Maybe they’re trying to make the clothing a bit more accessible to men by not having such a “girly” feel to it.
January 25th, 2008 at 6:31 pm
I would think that too, except that the Spring II collection for women is going to have the same colors and design themes. It will be a huge departure from the look of Spring I.

admin: oh no, haha i left the comment today within an hour before you made this journal entry (hoping to get credit for spotting it first)
lol. i left it 2 entries before this because i didn’t want to put it in the cactus pups comments

Ohh ok. Faster next time, FASTER!
Jamie from JapanLA gets the credit for this one - she e-mailed me about it a few hours before I made this post, but I was AFK or I would have posted the info sooner!

WHOAAA spring shirt for tokidoki is muy pretty!!!
I love the colors! XD
January 25th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
some of the stuff is cool!! i prefer the ol’ skool men’s tokidoki though…..using the characters as the focal point. maybe i’m just plain. the thing i noticed though is that the all over prints look faded or “distressed” and the a lot of the stuff looks like they have focal point as an iron on (the shiny reflection/rubbery look given off by the camera flash) rather than a screen print like previous seasons. i will for sure be getting some stuff though……..lol….8)
January 25th, 2008 at 7:23 pm
The style just doesn’t seem to be my style =[ so I’m not too fond of it.
January 25th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
admin - haha it’s all good
hey i was wondering, an idea for the blog: you know how you have links on the right? maybe could you add more links there? like, the various sites that sell tokidoki. not to advertise them persay, but so its easier for newbies to the site looking for where-to-buy? like, i found bazaaradriatic.com months ago from google, but a few days ago while reading your first clothing posts, you linked to bazaaradriatic.com. just an idea
you have such a great bag guide so, a guide to where to buy would be great too

(adding to last comment) like, The Giant Peach is definitely just as fantastic as Trendy Stars for finding merch

the graffiti writing is cool.
January 25th, 2008 at 8:32 pm
DEFINATELY some street influence…great colors but the graffiti isn’t my style
January 25th, 2008 at 8:56 pm
I love that Adios. It’s so different and definitely has more of a ’street’ feel to it. I’d wear it if I wanted to wear tokidoki but not by quite as colorful or loud as I usually am =).
I don’t know about all the guns, though. Hm.

i gonna email you last night, Steph that i went to Happy Six in West LA (which i found from your Tokidoki sightings)…and saw those new shirts and hoodies for men…i was told that those are the new premium shirts…i was skeptical and even thought it to be fake because… the shirts are not as soft and smooth as the old ones… they’re thicker and the prints are rough (sort of elevated)… i did not like the quality … to think they’re supposed to be premium… my husband did not like it either… : (

Krisha - Adding more links is a “possible future enhancement.” For now I am content to blog most often about my favorite stores that I have had the best experiences shopping at and speaking to personally. There are some other shops that I have had not-as-great experiences with. The “tokidoki sightings” post does give some additional reader-recommended tips on where to buy though.
Marhem - Argh, I am bummed to hear that!

i really prefer the italian version of the record hoodie too. :/ shame i don’t have $160+ to drop on a hoodie. lol.

I’m totally loving the “I Love LA” shirt! I’d so get it. x] Speaking of the Spring line, do you happen to know when the Spring’s line of bags will be out? Like an estimate or something?
January 26th, 2008 at 12:18 am
totally loving the new men’s stuff..nice and BRIGHT! YES!
January 26th, 2008 at 8:22 am
I like it, but that doesn’t mean they should abandon “classic” tokidoki styling either. ^_^
January 26th, 2008 at 9:47 am
For guys the colors aren’t right…. They would look great on the ladies though….The Italian version of the vinyl hoodie is definitely a lot better looking and better made….. Also, I see where the Italian guy from Ebay juust listed another new hoodie for guys…. Seems like the European market gets the best items…..

Actually, I liked the older designs of Tokiodoki but I like the Adios and record hoodies! I’m not really sure if I like the hoodie and shirts in cyan but they’re okay anyway (:
January 27th, 2008 at 11:58 am
Martin-
that’s the uchiwa that Simone’s gf gave us at the Moca show…the other side of it is really cute. pink haired girl on the left hand side, bolle bolle girl on the right hand side, records all around, there’s even adios and ciao ciao holding hands roller skating and mozarella riding a scooter. : )
January 27th, 2008 at 4:37 pm
marhem– That sounds really pretty
I haven’t seen it yet. do you have pics?
January 28th, 2008 at 12:24 am

Jennifer - There will not be a spring line of bags. The last tokidoki for LeSportsac print was Vacanze. There may be a new line of tokidoki bags in August 2008 though.
Cory and Krisha - The Spring II line for women should be out very soon. I will post about it as soon as it is!
February 2nd, 2008 at 5:32 pm
OK, so when did tokidoki decide to stop being cute, and turn ghetto?!
