Thank you to Leah for pointing out that tokidoki just posted pictures from the Pool Trade show to their blog – including sneak peeks at some new t-shirt designs (I see popcorn guy!!), hats, toys (including the Sandy and Mozzarella plush dolls once again, and if you bump your screen resolution up to 800×600 and look closely you’ll also see a black Skeletrino and a purple Skeletrina), sneaker-boots, jewelry, and BAGS. If you look closely at the pictures, you can see at least three different prints (Carnival and Concerto Punk, I believe, plus the new solid black) and a few different bag styles. One photo also shows the new Adios keychain design.

They also have some tokidoki items on clearance, including the new spring ’08 tunic top for almost 50% off. I have that top and it is super-cute (I even made a “no pink” exception for it!). The cut is really flattering and it’s adorable with leggings or gauchos underneath. Also, don’t forget to check The tokidoki Sightings Post regularly for new in-store sales that readers have found and shared with us all.
Has anyone else seen the new fakes page on the official tokidoki website yet? It actually links people to my blog’s guide to fakes! I am shocked and honored. It also encourages everyone to report fakes that you find on eBay to info@tokidoki.it so that they can go after the counterfeiters and shut them down. This is exciting news!
An anonymous reader just pointed out a post on ToysREvil announcing the upcoming release of a new vinyl toy called Miao the Lucky Cat, who comes paired with a smaller character called Mousubi. The 7″ tall figure was sculpted by Zakka, the color artwork and package design was done by Simone of tokidoki, and the figure will be produced by Zakkamono. This collaboration will be limited to 500 pieces, with a tentative release date of April 2008. No pricing info is available yet. Miao will retail for $80 plus shipping and handling (thanks, LMJ, for the looking into this!). Here is a picture, courtesy of ToysREvil – they have a couple more up as well:
Reader Marsea just wrote to me with this news:
“A few weeks ago I called Momoberry in the Beverley Center and they were taking pre-orders for the tokidoki for Hello Kitty bags. I placed my pre-order and they called me yesterday (2/19) to let me know that they are closing their store March 14th or 24th (I was in shock & can’t remember the date
) and they are NOT receiving any of the tokidoki for Hello Kitty line because of this, and that all pre-orders placed at that location have been transfered to the home office* (San Francisco) and that someone will call from the home office when their shipment arrives. They did say though, that they are closing because they are getting a bigger store and changing their name, don’t know when that is happening, but all I know is that they won’t be carrying any of the tokidoki for Hello Kitty line… MAJOR bummer!”
Reader Marhem also just added this info in a comment to a previous post: “Momoberry is closing this March 24 (everything in the store is 50% off) so they will NOT be getting the tokidoki for Hello Kitty stuff — ALTHOUGH they pre-sold their items and are now ALL SOLD OUT!!! They told me to call Sanrio NY.”
*The home office is not a store. Our poor Sanrio Worker (see comments) has been getting a lot of calls at his store, so please take note of this.
