A Sanrio employee has been nice enough to leak some more tokidoki for Hello Kitty info to us: at the end of this month is when tokidoki x Hello Kitty willl be released into stores. There will only be 4 USA company owned stores that have it, and they are: San Francisco Center, Times Square, Momoberry in Los Angeles, and Ala Moana. Each store will receive very limited quantities. Also, the tokidoki for Hello Kitty necklace that Simone has been wearing is a USA exclusive item, which is why is it not on the Sanrio Japan website’s list of collaboration items. Our worker does not know how limited the quantities for this necklace will be, but thinks that it will probably also only be at those four USA Sanrio stores.
UPDATE: The manager of the Sanrio Retail Operations department in SF, CA has confirmed all of this info in the comments section of this post, EXCEPT for one thing: the necklace that Simone has been spotted wearing will not be available at all and was a promotional item only!! 
I guess that this means that Tara got herself a true collector’s item! There is still debate over this though – read all of the comments on this post for more info.
I think I’ll be going to the Times Square store the day of the release to buy a bag! I’m so excited!!
All this sounds very exciting – I hope there will be something I want to get in this collab. Not digging gold so I’m gonna just wait it out I think…til I see something I really need.

That really sucks about the HK necklace. Being a Sanrio fan for years it would have been great to have something to combine my favorite brands. What a mean tease for the fans! I hope they will reconsider.

omg…thank you sooooooooo much for the info! I got to call the Sanrio store in SF and I’ve managed to be on waitlist for like…E V E R Y T H I N G. xD; She said I’m garanteed a bag and that there will be at most 36 bags (big) 24(small) like 8 keychains and what not. I asked for a price range, and she was like $46 for the big bag, but then someone else in the background was like, it’s not for sure. She also mentioned a necklace…and I was like, put me down for that one too! n_n
Also, she said Simone might be coming in April for a signing…she wasn’t for certain, but just a heads-up! n_n

I wonder if they will set limits on how much you can buy ? As I said I’m number 13 and the sales assitant said that I was guaranteed a bag as well as I want both the larger and smaller bags and other items too . I have friends who want me to purchase items for them too ! I wonder just how it will work ? Do they call you in the number in which you signed up and then allow you to make your purchases before calling the next person ? Meliss what number are you ? I mean if the first thirteen people alone buy at least two bags that is over half the inventory already ! I know my list as well as those I’m buying for for is quite big ! I hope it will be as fair . I’m just a little worried at how low this shipment will be ! Is that what other stores are getting ? Ladies what have you heard from your local stores ?
When I first called the SF store (2/8) they put me on the list for the mini bag and the plushie with the the pepper, I’m #15. Now when I found out that the large bag was 5 inches larger than the mini bag I called back two days later and the employee told me that they were sold out on the large bags. I called again today, and the employee told me that they were still sold out on the large and mini bags (I called after seeing Meliss’s post). The employee told me that they were trying to get another order of them because of the popular demand, so I think that it was a first come first serve basis in terms of the quantity that a customer could pre-order. Everyone on the list is probably guarenteed to get what they asked for if the person who took the order told them that it was available. I imagine
that in SF that they’re sold out on a lot of things so far. I plan on checking back, because I do want the larger bag. Also, the employee that I spoke to did mention the possibility of a necklace coming out, so I got put on the list for that too!!
I just wonder how Meliss was able to order “everything” and people who had called before her cannot change their order or add to their order . As I’ve said before I hope whatever system that they use will be fair to all .
Hmm…well she never gave me a number. Crap, should I have asked? And I over exagerated with the “everything;” I asked to be on the waitlist for both bags, keychain, charm, camera bag, necklace (if there is one), a plushie(w/ bastardino) and I think that’s it. She even asked if I wanted multiples of one item, so it is possible? She pretty much went down a list asking about which I would want because I kept trying to remember what was on the Japanese sanrio site; a mirror, make-up bag, watch (pretty much all the items I saw on the Japanese site), but I dont think I could afford everything xD; I liked the big bag cause it had a zipper *nods*
And she mentioned the inventory number as an estimate, so it’s not for sure? My info might be unreliable…sorry!
I called earlier tonight and spoke to a gentleman . ( Sorry this time I did’nt get a name I usually try to get a name so I can go back to the last person with whom I got information from .) He said that they are no longer taking pre-orders on both the small bag and larger bag as well as both the wallets . He said that shortly after my number thirteen that they were no longer taking orders on EITHER style bags and wallets . He said that people before my number as well as my number were pretty much guaranteed a bag . But for people calling now there is’nt much chance of getting either bag . MissLaina what you said earlier seems to be true . Meliss perhaps you should call back and verify your information . Do you know who you talked to ? It just seemed odd to me that just by calling today you were able to get both bags when people who have been on the list for almost a week know can’t order additional bags or change their order . I
I was going to ask how are the other three remaining stores doing with their inventory ? As I posted San Francisco is no longer taking pre-orders for either the small bag or large bag as well as wallets . What is the story with Hawaii , New York , and Los Angeles ? Are those stores still taking pre-orders on the full line of Tokidoki for Hello Kitty ? I’m just curious maybe San Francisco is not getting a large shipment as some of the other cities ? When I asked a gentleman if they were expecting more shipments he replied that they were’nt sure about any second shipments . Steph perhaps you could shed some light on any further shipments ? haha… veronica the person you spoke to at SF was more than likely me from the sound of it… from the looks of things it is probably true that a 2nd shipment will NOT be happening for us… New York has the most quantity for all items out of the 4 corporate stores…. yes we ARE still taking preorders only for MOST of the items now… ALTHOUGH! the wallet, pass/id case, handbag(aka smaller bag) and the boston bag(aka bigger bag) are NO LONGER AVAILABLE as preorder items in our store.
i really hope that everyone understands that if you DO NOT pick it up on the day we call you or have it SHIPPED to you on that day then we will put it out/add it to backstock for walk-in customers. (pause for people to yell at me =( haha….)
Thanks JL SF Sanrio I was just confused as there is so much information regarding the Tokidoki for Hello Kitty items . I suppose I got a little excited when I saw Meliss post that she was able to be out on the list yesterday and was able to get the popular items , I had thought there might be a second shipping or that you were getting more than first announced . Thanks for clearing things up for us ordering from San Francisco . You were so nice and patient over the phone ! Thank you for this new information. Meliss also posted about Simone might come to the San Francisco in April for a signing ? Any truth to that or just another rumor ? I did’nt want to get my hopes up .

veronica: no problem.. im always patient with customers. the simone signing you heard is true… well to some extent… the information passed to him and the date set apparently blew up… and it got tanked T_T the home office is still trying to get him to come though… so yes it WAS true =(
bridget: we are just no longer taking preorders because we are out/letting walk in customers have a fair chance at it too IF we have extras. NO we are not goin to cancel your order for the bags.
if u preordered it before the February 10th (the day that we got the notice that we recieved from home office to stop pre-orders on em) they are FINE and still under your name! but yea you CANNOT add MORE quantity on any of those four items i listed in a few post back.

just out of curiousity from what i’m reading, if you’re not there on the day they call you, they put it back on the floor correct? and do they give you the full day or some specific hours in a day? because i’m still trying to get a large bag and the girl just told me to come in and see if by chance, i can get one. but i’m not sure if i might have to wait a whole day or if i have to come back the next day? and it’s so unfair to all the people who didn’t hear about this earlier!
and btw, the necklace is sold online at the tokidoki website for $45.
Sorry Jen ! Just so you know you don’t have to be there in person to buy a bag . If you are unable to come to the store personally you can fax both your ID as well as credit card information to the store that took your pre-order . I’m sorry you didn’t hear about it sooner however it has been posted on every forum that features Tokidoki discussions . I put my name down as soon as I heard ! The stores have limited items to no more than two of the same items per person . Just to play it safe I pre-ordered two of the Boston Bag (larger bag ) because I knew it was going to be the must have item ! I hope you get lucky and someone cancels , or else your only chance may be e-bay but those bags have been going for crazy prices . Good luck to you in your search !
I dunno if u read the post i put on the other toki-hello kitty subject…I cant find the page i was on! But, i JUST picked up my toki-kitty bags from SF SANRIO and They are too cute! I was able to pick up the ID wallet, the smaller make up case, and 1 Boston bag! But unfortunately, the Boston Bag is waaaaaay too big for me…so most likely i will be returning it tomolo am…only cuz if i dont want it, at least there will be one more for someone else who does…I called SF Sanrio at 9pm PST and they said they are giving customers til 12pm noon tomolo (saturday) to pick up their items…. then they’ll be put out for the public.
