More Info About the 2008 tokidoki Bags & tokidoki for Hello Kitty
Jamie from JapanLA just released the scoop on the new 2008 tokidoki bags! As we have heard, the bags will be branded “tokidoki” only but still made by LeSportsac, and Jamie adds that the new bags will not have any LeSportsac logos. There will be 8 bag styles in 3 new prints:
- Carnival - a print with carnival food and characters on it
- Eco-Mondo - an enviromental print
- Concerto Punk - a punk print
+ a plain black and a plain dark grey print with a black print inside of Adios Star, Fantasmino, and white Nana Star pattern. The bags will be out in August 2008.
ALSO - Jamie told me that Ivan of tokidoki confirmed to her that the tokidoki for Hello Kitty necklace WILL be made after all! JapanLA is taking pre-orders for it, and for many other tokidoki for Hello Kitty items including clothing! No bags, but pretty much everything else. I know this is in the wrong blog but I’ve seen messenger bags sold at Hot topic in the same style as the tokidoki Ciao Ciao (ciao ciao is smaller messenger right?) o_O

I wonder if they are going to be the same high tokidoki/Lesportsac price, or if they will drop down a bit since the leSportsac name won’t be on them. I’d really like the carnival one, it should be fun, but I”m getting tiered of handing over money left & right…

i ordered the bigger wallet (not the id case). i also want a bag, but it looks like i might have to look to ebay for that bad boy.
and now i am yearning to see the clothing. i am not above wearing tokidoki x hello kitty clothing in public. i will DO IT.
this makes my day, after my fiance bought me the fender hello kitty guitar that i’ve wanted for like five years. that was my valentine’s gift. it is AMAZING.

Any word on who will carry the bags ? Will the Lesportsac stores carry the Tokidoki line ? I remember the last couple of prints were not offered in the Lesportsac stores . Or will the bags only sold in department stores ? Thanks Steph for all of your information . I can’t wait to see this new line of bags ! Please post pictures Steph if you can !

hey Vikitty, i’m not sure what CP means but i’m assuming you want someone to pre-order it for you. i already placed my order but i could place another order if you are ok with the extra $10 shipping (because it’s a separate order and not rocking the combinded shipping).

Do we know if the new prints will be repeating patterns like the Toki for LeSportSac bags? Or will they be a simple print and all exactly the same, like the Toki for Hello Kitty and the old European Toki bags?

For coming from such humble background Legno’s merchandise is an arm and a leg. He’s very lucky to have such devoted fans to pay for the stuff. You’d think he has a say with the way things are made he might have a say setting prices. The toys very cute but it’s PLASTIC.The shirts shrink,fade and are not adequately sized plus $40 for a TEE SHIRT? At min. wage that’s 5 HOURS of whatever kind of work YOU or YOUR PARENTS do. Hurray for capitalism?!? You would think he would be more FOR THE FANS.Love the art but conflicted about how ridiculously priced items are.

Does anyone know of any place that will carry the upcoming Tokidoki + HK purses that will also ship to Canada? I initially decided to just resort to ordering from Yahoo! Auction Japan but the Pass/ID Case seems to have sold out and there’s no sign of it on eBay.
Or if anyone in the States could lend a hand, that would be great too.
I’ve done it before (and I’d hate to bother the same person TWICE) and I’m willing to pay the extra costs. Thanks!

So is JapanLA not doing pre-orders now? It doesn’t look like it is on their site anymore… What other stores will sell these items? I had planned on buying the camera case, one of the pencil cases JapanLA had pictured, and the large plush. This sucks. Wait until payday to order, and now it is gone.

I just came from Momoberry Beverly Center (LA) and Japan LA….. Momoberry is closing this March 24 (everything in the store is 50% off) so they will NOT be getting the Tokidoki-HK stuff —-ALTHOUGH they presold their items and are now ALL SOLD OUT !!! They told me to call Sanrio NY. I passed by JapanLA to see the pics of the coming bags…. very nice…I’m quite excited…they have similar styles of the old ones like zucca, campeggio, canguro …the bags are just a little more expensive maybe because they look a little bit bigger. the 3 prints are allover prints …eco-mundo has mostly green, carnival yellow and orange (cute) and concerto punk grey and black (i noticed the pink haired girl on this one). The plain black/dark grey has a metal heart/crossbone on the lower right handside of the bag. I think JapanLA is still taking orders for the HK stuff … just call them. I am more excited for other stuff that are coming too ( i browsed through the whole catalog …drool…) esp. the watches …there are 4 that I want … I don’t think I can sleep … Sandy plush, new jewelry… lots more you guys … get the wallet ready !

hey its official! Sanrio stores will also be getting the necklaces in april! quantities unknown as of right now! Ala Moana, Times Square, and San Francisco Center will be getting them too!
