Okay - it's official!! I made the earrings with the angry diamonds and wear them EVERY DAY!!! I have had SO many comments on them :) I also wear the necklace now because it's more manageable. I took off the skull and crossbones and moved it farther up on the one side like all the other necklaces.

:)

I will send pics asap!

For all those considering angry diamond earrings, they will be very big as studs (the way they are sold as earrings) so for the extra few bucks I would suggest buying the NECKLACE and making dangles. It took me all of 5 minutes with two pairs of needle nosed pliers.

The metals used in the jewelery are easy to manipulate but also quite sturdy. I was able to close the rings perfectly with no problems.

I would say do it if you don't want to spend the money on the earrings... but the way they are on the necklace is really cute too....

Joanne - that's brilliant - I would have done the same! I make jewellery as well so I know I could put them back on (I can mark which links I took them from). I make pendants from cell phone charms too!

I say go for it, it's your necklace! I got my tokidoki hello kitty necklace just recently in the mail too and was surprised how long it was. I usually don't wear that kind of jewelry so I too felt gangstah...so i'm glad i'm not the only one!

I'd do it! I had planned on buying one of the adios star bracelets to make a necklace and earrings out of!

You could always buy an extra one to 'collect'...

I have the Fantasmino necklace, and i found a good way to shorten it like the model wearing on the picture :).

Unfortunately this does require a bit of dexterity, but it's nice effect when you want to 'layer' necklaces.

Take the clasp and find the spot where you like the length, then gently open the clasp open and set it over the horizontally link, and let it go gently. The link acts as a 'wedge' between the top and bottom of the clasp, and is pretty sturdy -- (lasted through me and a club escapade). I'm tugging on it right now and it's still pushing through.

Even if you do manage to get it snagged, it falls through the clasp and acts like a slipknot? (Is that what it's called?) so it 'stops' at the rignt anyways.

ha ha i know what you mean. i have never owned a tokidoki necklace, but quickly picked up the hello kitty one. I was surprised at the size when I got it. I took a picture and sent it to my fiance via text and he replied "nice bling" so yes I also feel "gangstah" when I wear it too. I wish it wasn't as big and not as long. I guess they do this to make it unisex?

But I say go for it and make earrings!!!
