There Are Still Three More tokidoki Bag Print Re-Releases to Come!
I just received confirmation from a Hawaii LeSportsac employee that after the re-release of the L’Amore print in April, Pirata will be re-released in May and Spiaggia will be re-released in June - for a total of SIX print re-releases! (Or eight, if you count the 2007 Euro-exclusive original tokidoki print re-release and the DFS Citta Rosa re-release.) These print re-releases will continue to happen in Hawaii and Guam only.

So, does anyone know if Macy’s will be carrying any of the re-releases? I know that Happy Six HAD the Citta prints but was that the re-release or will there be another one? How do we know what stores will carry stuff, or is it just in HI/Guam… Help!

Oh… I couldn’t help it, I just bought an awesome Citta BV on Ebay for $200 including shipping. That’s reasonable right? I mean if I got it from LSS in HI it would probably be around that much anyways and the print placement was awesome. Plus, I’ve been working my ass off lately… I’m so glad this blog exists. I was just thinking I may be getting too old to be carrying TD (32) but then I just saw this 70y/o women at the beverly center with an Inferno Zucca. RIght ON!

Tina - Hey you are never too old to carry a tokidoki! I think some people can carry anything off if they have confidence and know how to carry it. I am 51 and I carry mine and get lots of nice compliments on my bags. Since I have been working for a quite a while I can afford to buy the ones I want. I also saw a lady older than me carrying a spiagga nuvola. Ha, Ha, you’re a baby 32 lol. Just teasin ya.

Mel - Our Macy’s isn’t even allowed to carry tokidoki for lesportsac bags, so that would probably be a no, to answer your question.
(in general)…I think it’s been mentioned everywhere that only Hawaii and Guam will have these. And, no regular stores here carry it…so yeahhh…I wouldn’t even bother with Macy’s or Nordstroms or anything…
I do not think that Lesportsac listens to the people at all, which is why we get the prints that we don’t want for a re-print. I am not talking about SAs, but rather the people in charge…all they see is dollar signs. They do not realize that the reason why the other prints (that are being re-released) made so much money was because Tokidoki was more widespread at that time. In the beginning not everyone knew about tokidoki so they couldn’t possibly have bought the bags. If they read this blog or any other online community concerning tokidoki they would understand it.

I already have pieces in Pirata, so I’m good on that re-release. (I’m excited for everyone else to have a chance to score some Pirata pieces!!! My first Toki was a Pirata Zucca, so I have special love for the Pirata Print!!!)
I’m excited about Spiaggia, because I’m hoping I can get someone to do a CP for me for a Caramella!!! I’ve been searching for a Caramella with Adios Surfing!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Janelle, all the LeSporttsac stores get shipments of the re-released Tokidoki bags. Ala Moana will do shipping if you spend more than $150, but not all of them are willing to ship out. Usually only the managers of the store can ship so you’ll have to call around. The SAs will be more than happy to help you with the style/print/placement and prepare your item. By the way, they only take money orders.

I’d kinda have to disagree with jessaka. Its impossible to please eveyone with the reprints. I think the money issue is a different one in its entirety. If it was about the cash only they would have mass produced the heck out of these bags already! Were lucky there even are reprints to begin with! I don’t think you can generalize for everyone and say that they are reprinting the ones thay ‘we’ don’t want…

this is very exciting! although i wish they would re-rerelease the Tan Playground print for sheer fact that it’s so rare that anyone who has one can sell it for a lot. Tokidoki and LeSportsac don’t like bags being resold and i’m sure BY NOW they are aware of how sought after the print is. doesn’t make sense but maybe they’ll wise up if enough of us email them constantly? squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Kristi I’m not a huge fan of Tan Playground ( Gasp ! ) either . I can also live without Citta , Citta Rosa , Spiaggia or Pirata . In fact I don’t own anything in those prints . I collect only certain prints and after spending about $ 575.00 on Tokidoki For Hello Kitty Line my wallet is glad those prints are not a must have for me . However that being said I’m am going to buy for the L’Amore re-release . Everyone loves different prints for different reasons , that what makes Tokidoki line so fun ! There’s something for everyone and every taste . I guess I’m in the minority of not having to have the above mentioned prints . Hey but that’s ok you buy what you love right ? I don’t see it as arguing as you said just having a discussion .

I will go for Inferno… Altho i already did spend $450 when the Inferno was re-release last week in Hawaii.. well.. everybody has its own choice… I personally dont find Famiglia attractive at all…
it will be cool if Foresta gonna be re-release… I definitely will buy a Trenino, and pair it with a Portotelefeno…. ^____^….

Foresta was already re-released last November in Hawaii and Guam . I don’t think LeSportSac would do a second re-release of Foresta . I was lucky to get a gioco from the Foresta re-release and Sandy is on the front of my bag ! I am still on the hunt for my perfect Foresta zucca .

Tofufar–there was a bunch of FORESTA, Fumo, Notte Treninos two weeks ago at the LSS seattle going for $104. It got sold out in about 4-5 days.

No Jess sorry they are only sold through the Lesportsac stores in both Hawaii and Guam . They ship to the mainland but they do not take credit cards over the phone . What you do is send a money order before the re-release date of the print you are interested in . I believe that the Lesportsac store calls you when the bags are in and I think they help with print placement . I’m glad I have someone lined up to do a custom purchase for me . I contacted the very sweet person who is doing my custom purchase back in Febuary . Lesportsac does not know the exact day of the re-release but I heard sometimes they call you the day before or sometimes the day of as was the case with inferno . Good Luck girls !

GRAH! (head explodes) Too much tokidoki goodness! lol I wish I lived in Hawaii, but I’m kinda glad I don’t since tokidoki bags have managed to suck a lot of money out of me already, lol. Then again, I’m all too willing to buy them because they are teh awesome. I’m a bit bummed out about not getting a Citta or Citta Rosa from Happy Six. Ironically enough, I was out of town from LA in SF when I found out about Happy Six getting more tokidoki in. Ah well. This is the second time something like that has happened. C’est la vie or as they say in Japanese shigataganai (can’t be helped).

I don’t know why the places in Hawaii do not do what the main store Sanrio did when I had to get the Hello Kitty / Tokidoki Boston bag and wallet….. They will accept the credit card over the phone as long as you have sent them a copy either through fax or like I did took a picture of the back and front of the credit card and my driver’s license which has the address on it and then that way they wouldn’t have to worry about doing that….. To me they are stupid and lose business because of them not accepting credit cards and shipping….. Right now they probably figure they can sell out without people from the states purchasing their goods….but making good relations now could pay off later…… Just a thought…perhaps if someone contacted them and stated this and ask why they do not accept credit cards over the phone, etc. and report what they state…..

I feel kinda *Cheesy* after send my $400+ Money to Hawaii, Altho they call me and tell me that they got the money order, Well i send it thru Certified mail.. But they also tell me that the item wont send out until end of APRIL…. and when i place order, the lady told me that because they only accept money order.. item will go out once they received the money… and they said the item will be on hold only for five business day.. dont know why they now dont mail it out and has to wait till end of month…

DON – accepting credit card orders over the phone is probably not the safest way to transact. While outwardly it would seem to make things easier for the consumer I’m sure that the stores are hesitant to do so because of the possibility of chargebacks and CC fraud etc. As far as the Hawaii Sanrio accepting CC’s, I was in Vegas when Sanrio called regarding reserving items….In order for me to get the items I wanted I had to send my sister down to the Ala Moana store because they wouldn’t accept CC numbers over the phone.

ihatetDfakes: I guess I was lucky that the Sanrio store took my credit card….without that I would be out of luck…… I live in Maryland so getting the Boston Bag and wallet would have been impossible for me if not for them doing that since there are no stores here carrying them. Also, even when Macy’s was carrying the Lesportsac Tokidoki line the ones here didn’t have it…I had to get it offline from the Macy’s store………
I understand your point but with the credit card thing you could also buy the item in person and do a chargeback anyway…… If a photo of the credit card and driver’s license is given and the shipping adress is the same as on the license I see no need for the store to worry….. But I guess since the items are flying off the shelf the store takes the safest way…. I guess if they didn’t sell they would be only too glad to accept credit cards…….

DON - out of curiousity did you receive your Boston bag and wallet yet from the Sanrio Store in Hawaii because from what I understand there’s been alot of mix ups with what was pre-sold. EX - my sister purchased a boston bag and a cosmetic case on pre-order but they couldn’t find the boston so she had to switch it out for a Mini Bag instead.
And your absolutely right…anyone could do a chargeback even if they bought it in person however they’d have a really hard time being that the merchant captured their signature rather than nothing at all. I run a business myself and personally do not accept CC numbers over the phone because of the high rate of fraud. While the vast majority of purchasers are honest there is also the hand full that spoils it for the rest of us. Prime example…Lesportsac will only accept money orders for the re releases - they will not budge on that policy regardless of whether the merchandise is flying off the shelf or not…it’s probably not worth the risk.

wow, unexpectedly fast! i fortunately sent my money order to Hawaii Saturday afternoon (a few minutes before the Post Office was closing) and the LeSportsac manager emailed me Monday afternoon saying that she received it!
i’ve read in previous comments that some money orders take up to 2 weeks to be received so i am quite surprised.

last week monday, i just happened to be at lss ala moana. they had just marked down the tutti line 30% off. i rushed over & got my duffle bag. as i was debating if i should buy more tutti bags, they started to pull them off the shelves. the sa offered me the chance to buy more before they took them away. apparently they weren’t supposed to offer the discount, but ship them off to the outlet. needless to say, i grabbed 4 other styles. (still not sure what i’m going to do with them.) i got a great deal! i wonder if the outlet still has any left?
also, they have the spiaggia print in the bella bag at ala moana. i bought that saturday. not sure if anyone was interested.

i am a frequent visitor to the ala moana store and they have told me that the reason certain prints like the PG and Pirata were not ordered or canceled was due to limits on when those prints could be re-released. to use foresta as an example, foresta will not/cannot be re-released again because it’s window to be re-released has expired. because these windows are limited, once a print is re-released, it will not be released again. in regards to the stores calling people informing them of the re-release dates, they were only able to promise to call as soon as they were notified that the bags were arriving. sometimes they have advance notice and are able to call a day ahead of the release date but often times, the uncertainties of deliveries only give them enough time to call the same day of the delivery. ihatetDfakes i completely agree with you when it comes to CC purchases over the phone. there is just too much risk of fraud to be able to accept the CC over phone purchases. i think the business that accept CC over phone purchases pay a higher premium/rate to do business with the CC companies. for business that do a lot of CC over phone purchases like pizza delivery this higher rate is acceptable but for business who don’t do a lot of CC over phone transactions, this is a just another added cost to their overhead. with that said, for those of you wanting to do purchases with money orders, especially large purchases, i have heard the sas tell customers that they are not responsible for lost or misdirected postal mail so i suggest you take the necessary precautions when you send your hard earned cash. lastly, when i asked why the re-releases were limited only to Hawaii/DFS and guam, the sa said that LSS on the US mainland chose to phase out tokodiki and not do the releases. i hope this cleared up a few things for everyone. i do have my contacts at lss so if you guys have some burning questions, let me know and i will go do some snooping….

GoldenAnkh - I don’t think that they do pre-orders for re-releases because I live in Hawaii and LSS just takes your name and calls you on the day of the re-release…everything is on a first come first serve basis. But I don’t think that you will have a problem getting a Spiaggia Trenino.
