Macy’s NYC and CA Field Reports
EAST COAST
Krisha was at Macy’s Herald Square in NYC this past Saturday and took a bunch of field report pictures to share with us all. I’m not sure how quickly these items are flying off the racks, but thought these photos would be a fun addition to this post. (And eyewitness proof that this store DOES carry these items, for those of you getting rude SAs on the phone!)

WEST COAST
Kim in CA has this tokidoki for Hello Kitty field report to share:
I found the red shirts with the keyhole back (I GOT ONE! woot!), the light blue tube top, and the chain link crab print and more are all on sale at the Macy’s in South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa/Orange county.
Also I saw the black hello kitty & tokidoki hoodies and the all over print t-shirts at Metropark at the Spectrum in Irvine.

Where in NYC? I live in CT and that’s like a train ride away! I gotta make that trip now….
May 6th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
Hunty - Macy’s Herald Square = 6th Avenue + 34th Street. Penn station is one block away..
May 6th, 2008 at 9:23 pm
Damn, man, they have a lot at the NYC one! Good Lord. I never expected to see that many tokidoki Hello Kitty items in one place.
May 6th, 2008 at 9:48 pm
They have all these clothes @ macy’s & Metropark in the Glendale mall.
May 6th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
SORRY, GLENDALE MALL IN CALIFORNIA. .
May 6th, 2008 at 9:58 pm
Wow *_* soooo much!! I wouldn’t be able to contain myself and by it all ^_^. have a feeling Tokidoki is gowing to grow in fans.
May 6th, 2008 at 11:23 pm
Wowza, it’s like Tokidoki has it’s own section in the Herald Square Macy’s! Nothing like that around here.
Do they do special orders at all?
May 7th, 2008 at 12:52 am
Wow. Awesome pics. Thanks. Anyone know the retail prices for any of these clothes, even just a ballpark? I’ve only seen them on ebay and am assuming the prices are super jacked.
May 7th, 2008 at 12:58 am
tokidoki-blog: i took these photos last Saturday, May 3rd. i went back on Monday to do CPs and to my surprise, all of the short sleeve HK hoodies were gone. most of the Mozzarella HK T-shirts were gone too.
i know the hoodies are a hot item but there’s the possibility price hikers on eBay got through over the phone and ordered whatever was left.
Jamie - Macy*s does phone orders but most blog readers have been unsuccessful at finding a sales associate who’ve heard of the brand and where the clothing’s located.
May 7th, 2008 at 1:06 am
Littlesinner - several sites that sell the line are linked in blog entries filed under “tokidoki x Hello Kitty”

I’d have to second that. Here was my conversation with a woman from Macy’s:
“Do you have any Tokidoki for Hello Kitty items in stock?” - Me
“Toka who?” - Sales Associate (SA)
“Tokidoki”
“what?”
“Tokidoki…”
“Toke what?!? *add tinge of frustration*”
“TOW-KEY-DOUGH-KEY… for Hello Kitty….?”
“Circuit City??” - SA
“Ugh. Nevermind.”
May 7th, 2008 at 1:31 am
i went to the beverly center in los angeles and they had some of the shirts and the shorts there at the macys. although you don’t find them at the westside pavillion macys or century city macys since i went there today and didn’t see them there. as for the retail prices, all the places i go to and check out online seem to sell it all for the same price. the tube tops cost $53, the keyhole shirts are $70, tshirts are $48, tank top $40. some of the prices on ebay are little jacked up so they can make a profit.
May 7th, 2008 at 2:01 am
The SA’s are just being dumb. Everyone knows who Hello Kitty is at least that. My mom knows who HK is and when I said Tokidoki she got it the first time and she speaks spanish.
May 7th, 2008 at 2:16 am
NYC has SO much!!!
KRISHA ~ Did you use your phone to take those pictures??? How weird would it be if you waltzed in there with a camera?! LOL!!!!
~~~
I too can confirm the stock at South Coast Plaza and the Spectrum in Southern Orange County, as I was referred to each location by the SAs at the Macy’s of the Shops at Mission Viejo on Monday. Krisha did a CP for me for the red and grey tokidoki for Hello Kitty keyhole-backed sweatshirts (which she has a picture of!). Those are my favorite pieces of the collection, but I may check out the local stores for other pieces if I decide I like ‘em enough!!!
I hope that the nautical line will be carried locally!!! I’m iffy on ordering online at Trendy Stars, because they don’t do returns or exchanges, and I want to be safe with sizing!!!
May 7th, 2008 at 2:39 am
OMG, it’s like Tokidoki Hello Kitty heaven!!!!
Did you have to fight the urge to throw all the clothes on the ground and roll around in them?
May 7th, 2008 at 2:52 am
I think I would have had more of an urge to throw all the SAs on the floor and beat them. lol!
May 7th, 2008 at 3:18 am
kristi - that’s exactly what happened to me. i was willing to pay shipping even though i only live an hour train ride away to make sure i got what i wanted before it sold out. i called several times to place an order and never got a knowledgeable SA. i got fed up and made the trip the next day.
Janelle - nope, i used a real camera haha. i didn’t waltz in holding the camera, but after i took out my camera, i waltzed the racks LOL
Pru - i was tempted to roll around in the clothes in the dressing room, but it wasn’t big enough haha. i had enough clothes because the sizing is so erratic even though every piece is from the same collection.
Seriously though! It’s like sometimes I’m an M, sometimes an L. sometimes an XL sometimes a Small. A little consistency would be nice damnit! It’s really frustrating
May 7th, 2008 at 3:58 am
the thing that bugs me the most is no stores around me like Macys at topanga mall or northrige (the valley) have them and when i go ask they send me to paul frank’s stuff,i dont feel like going down to OC just to get a shirt oh well guess i will wait till my metropark gets them in.
May 7th, 2008 at 5:47 am
oooooooooooooo tokidoki overload!
May 7th, 2008 at 5:54 am
does anyone know if Hawaii has it yet?? Or where I can find it in California??
May 7th, 2008 at 9:05 am
i think it’s really pitiful that those sales associates have no idea what they’re doing and don’t really care. macy’s isn’t like a kohl’s either. they’re supposed to have a little better of everything. i’m glad i haven’t had to deal with them
May 7th, 2008 at 11:35 am
ya, I haven’t found anything here in Washington, when I asked an SA about it, she referred me to the little girl’s department!!
Oh well, I’m not surprised - it just doesn’t seem to be very widespread here. The Macy’s nearest me carries LSS bags, but didn’t have any LSS for Tokidoki. The one just a little further in a bigger mall sold LSS for Tokidoki but not regular LSS. Strange…
May 7th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
OMG, that’s a lot of Tokidoki! Oh, to the gal asking about Hawaii:
No, Macy*s did not get in the new shipment of Toki clothing, but there is a store at Ala Moana by Makai Market (Animation Addicts, or something like that?) that does sell Toki stuffs like watches, figures, baby clothes, shirts, stationary sets, and… hats. I really wanted to buy something there, but the past 2-3 times i went inside, it was HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. The salesclerk didn’t even acknowledge me so… oh well.
Oh yeah, you can also check out the new Nordstrom’s. They had the record ones when they first opened, but I haven’t been back to the Junior’s department since then.
Ooh! I have the gray AS hoodies. I wish Macy*s carried more clothing and the bags here, then I’d totally abuse my discount. LOL
TO JAMIE (above): Tokidoki clothing is usually in the Junior’s department at Macy*s. Also seems to be the case at Nordstrom’s as well.
May 7th, 2008 at 9:12 pm
To razorkiss:
Yay for someone else who is a Valley person! Though I’m going to school in Santa Barbara. And there is NO tokidoki stuff up here either, lol. I heard the Glendale Galleria Macy’s has a TON of stuff, so if you’re in that area, you should go check it out.
May 7th, 2008 at 10:36 pm
Hi - not sure what happened but my post didn’t work last time - can anyone tell me about the sizing of the HK allover print and the crab T shirt sizing??
I usually wear medium in the 2007 / winter 2008 T shirts - will the sizing be the same in the new style?
Anyone?
DITTO. It seems she doesn’t care if she make the sale or not. SHEESH
May 8th, 2008 at 12:12 am
Ambersdad - is it the younger girl with the horribly drawn in eyebrows at Animation Addict that your talking about? If so yeah I agree, I had to exchange one of my Tokidoki x Hello Kitty shirts that I bought there and when I walked in the store…she was on the phone, obviously a personal call…and basically treated me as if I was bothering her.
BUT…NORMALLY the owner is there during the day and she’s REALLY REALLY nice and helpful…so I would hate for them to get a bad wrap for one bubblehead’s lack of customer service.
Metropark in Ala Moana just got the Tokidoki Nautical line, I saw the stripped shirt, the stripped jacket, the Tokidoki x HK Moofia Shirt, Tokidoki x HK Ciao Kitty Kiss tube top and this mermaid tank that was too cute to pass up. I’m happy but my wallet feels sad and empty. LOL
May 8th, 2008 at 1:10 am
IhateTDfakes - there is an older asian woman that i thought fit the previous descriptions from the other posts (i’m not sure if she is the owner or a regular sales associate). she is nice when you talk to her but i understand what the other people mean where there seems to be a lack of initiative/interest on the SA’s part. it’s also uncomfortable sometimes because the women’s tokidoki merchandise is RIGHT NEXT to the cashier and that you have to ask for to see things each time, even though the store is small. i feel like i’m bothering them, too.
Island Snow locations carry tokidoki clothing, too! i’m not sure if they have the new line of clothing in stock though. however, their customer service rubbed me the wrong way when i once inquired about tokidoki items over the phone. bad customer service just irks me b/c i used to work in retail and it’s surprising how rude people can be sometimes. lol oh well~
May 8th, 2008 at 1:19 am
I called all the Macy’s around me (in the NE Ohio area), as well as Nordstrom and Metropark. All the Macy’s said that they didn’t carry it (they haven’t heard of it, so that’s a no for them). Since the ones I go to have never sold it before, I’m going to safely assume that the ones around here just don’t have the brand. Nordstrom said they don’t carry it, and Metropark won’t be ordering any of the HK stuff, or anymore Tokidoki for that matter. Guess it hasn’t really caught on around here. Although, one store in Tower City Center told me to call back in two weeks about the HK stuff.
Note to anyone interested: Northeast Ohio does not appreciate Tokidoki!
The local search is moot for the most part since these shirts are slowly making their way onto the tokidoki.it store and other online shops that sell at the regular price, not like the unfairly jacked up prices on eBay.
May 8th, 2008 at 1:24 am
mei lee - yep - the thing was…(and things may have changed since I went there last week) but they don’t even have the Tokidoki x Hello Kitty clothes displayed..it’s behind the register so I had to ask for it…but yeah I can see how it can get really uncomfortable in there being that the store is small and pretty much packed with inventory.
Good customer service goes ALONG way which is why I TOTALLY recommend the girl’s at Metropark Ala Moana by Nordstrom’s!!!
May 8th, 2008 at 1:27 am
When I couldn’t find anything that I wanted in our stores here in Hawaii…went to thegiantpeach.com and received my shirts within days and shipping was surprisingly reasonable (Normally Hawaii is automatically charged UPS 2nd Day Air which is KILLER).
But…keep in mind…the Tokidoki x Hello Kitty line runs small.
May 8th, 2008 at 2:11 am
Sue from Canada - i need a size L in the all-over “kitty toss” T-shirt.
i normally wear size S in all Tokidoki T-shirts,
with the exception of size M in the all-over Moofia print T-shirt (due to the thick, good quality printing which limits the T-shirt’s stretchability)
with that said, i wear a size M in the TD x HK collaboration tank tops and a size S in the keyhole “tunics” (more like sleeveless sweatshirts)
the sizes on everything are ridiculous!
May 8th, 2008 at 3:24 am
I found the tokidoki hello kitty clothing in today! There were the red shirt and the black shirt at Ala Moana Metropark in Hawaii. They also had a lot of black tube tops. I also found the shorts and the red polka dot at Ala Moana Macy’s in Hawaii! They had many selections, and I even bought a few of them =)
Anyone who lives in Hawaii should check out Ala Moana!
Super cute stuff!
May 8th, 2008 at 11:20 am
Krisha: Thanks for the help. To confirm - is the “kitty toss” T-shirt the allover print T shirt that looks to be the same style as the crab nautical t shirt?
It looks quite fitted - the mediums are the perfect size for me in the regular plain styled tokidoki t shirts - but the fitted style concerns me because I have a chest and hips!
May 8th, 2008 at 12:57 pm
Sorry for OT, but I was wondering: Is there any other place that tokidoki.it where I can get the “hello kitty for tokidoki” necklace… They don’t ship to Germany… *sigh*
I’ve been searching everywhere~
May 8th, 2008 at 11:06 pm
The Giant Peach has everything back in stock now!
May 9th, 2008 at 1:39 am
buy the clothing at sanrio sf center!!! we have it ALLLLL!!! haha just letting ya’ll know
May 9th, 2008 at 3:26 am
oh good lord thats the worst news my wallet has heard all evening…
May 9th, 2008 at 4:33 am
i’m glad that i dont live in cali or id be broke. i love sanrio but we only have 1 sanrio store (bellevue square)here that sucks!
May 9th, 2008 at 5:08 pm
Just to let you guys know, I stopped by Sanrio downtown this morning to see what they had…seems like everything in the line was available. I was really disappointed, though, in the quality of their shipment. This may not have been their fault but as I was thumbing through the clothes, almost everything had a stain - some of them were really big too! - loose threads, bleeding colors…it was really terrible! I even asked for another one from the back, and the tank I wanted also had a stain!
I’m sure there are some good finds in that lot but make sure you examine everything very closely before actually buying it…don’t let the excitement overcome your good eyes. One of the dresses had this really gross green smudgey mark on the side…it was kinda lumpy and thick. blech.
May 9th, 2008 at 11:13 pm
To all the gals in Hawaii, I was able to see 2 (yes, that’s right, only 2) of the Toki+Hello Kitty stuff and the size does run a little small. I was gonna buy the red shirt, but alas! The color didn’t suit me. It made me sad.
But thanks for the heads up at other stores at Ala Moana! Last night I saw that Island Snow had a Tokidoki dress on one of the mannequins. It was the Discoteca one… must go check it out!
OMG, YES! That’s the SA, the young girl! The entire time I was there she was on the phone with a “Don’t bother me” vibe. It makes me want to ask to speak to the owner to complain.
May 10th, 2008 at 12:31 am
kristi - i know what you mean! several of the seafoam blue Sand & Hello Kitty T-shirts at Macy*s had stains on the back! it was really gross.
May 10th, 2008 at 10:39 pm
WOW!! O_O I had no idea all these new clothes came out!! I gotta check Island Snow, Macy*s, Nordstrom.. and METROPARK opened?!?!!! O__O!! I’m so out of the loop! hahaha this is bad.. I’m going to deposit my paycheck today too…
Great pictures Krisha!! What were the prices like?? I bet Hawaii’s prices are jacked up like usual >_>
May 11th, 2008 at 1:26 am
hi~
which floor are the goodies located at macys 34th st? 5th floor?
May 11th, 2008 at 1:29 am
MissDana - I found that the prices are comparable to the ones on the mainland for clothing in Hawaii. There is also a place in Koko Marina called Chic Icon that has alot of Tokidoki x Hello Kitty stuff. They have the sweats!!! Only problem with that store is that #1 it opens at 11:00 and #2 I’m assuming that they don’t have many workers because it’s closed at different times of the day so your best bet is call ahead before you make the drive out there. They give 10% off with every $100 purchase though.
May 11th, 2008 at 8:34 pm
I don’t want to ruin the discussion because my request is really off-topic~ But where can I find the “hello kitty for tokidoki” necklace except the tokidoki.it website? Can somebody help me?
May 11th, 2008 at 10:01 pm
Bibi- what area do you live in?
May 12th, 2008 at 4:53 am
@IhateTDfakes:
In Germany, and sadly tokidoki.it does not ship to europe - they also have a online shop for europe, but they don’t have the necklace there :/
May 12th, 2008 at 12:07 pm
shucks - bibi I think your best bet is on ebay
May 13th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Its been 10 days and I haven’t gotten my hello kitty things from macy’s yet. I’m getting worried!!!!
May 15th, 2008 at 2:03 am
I live in NJ and the malls near me don’t carry anymore tokidoki items. No tees ever and the bags have been sold out for awile. I guess I might as well go into NYC.
BTW, when trying to find the clothingm they are in the juniors section usually near the “Harajuku Lovers” and “Paris Hilton” lines.
Actually… If anyone got these items from Macys, send me the sku # and I’ll post which stores have them in stock. I’m a “informed” SA. LOL….
and I know how much of a run-around it is to call different stores, I do it almost every friggin’ day.
May 16th, 2008 at 12:22 am
May 16th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
I stop by Sario store in Time Square yesterday and they got new dress that I have not seen in Macy’s store and the sweat pants was really cute. The new dress is a strapless dress with hears button straigh down really cute. If I remember correctly it was around $83.00
May 16th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
For those that doesn’t live in NYC…Macy’s at Garden State Mall have lots of Tokidoki Clothing. Also I found some Tokidoki bags at Century 21 in Paramus
May 16th, 2008 at 12:40 pm
just curious.. is it print ? or solid bags ??
