i would love to pre-order the shoes, but i don’t wanna do it blindly…any suggestions on sizing? i was thinking of walking into a Journey’s and try on other Onitsuka shoes. they should be the same right? i have wide feet and fit a 8.5 to 9.

Has anyone tried on Onitsuka sneakers before? I have wide feet so my feet blister whenever I wear narrow shoes (i.e. Pumas). Are they similar to Pumas in sizing? Thanks in advance!

i especially love the soles of the shoes! it’s great how the mens sizes go down to a 4 (my size!) because i like the yellow one more than the womens ones.

Dumb question, if I am a size 8 in women, would i be an 8 in mens? I like the guys shoes better but want to get the right size.

I’m a 7.5 and I actually own a few pairs of men’s shoes lol. I am a size 6 in highs for men, and 6.5 in lows . . .
For men’s, you want to go a size and a half lower.
So if you’re in an 8, you would be a size 7 . . . but you should probably try some shoes on before you buy. Each shoe varies depending on the style of the shoe.

Good News! I was looking for the Onitsuka tigers for tokidoki snekers
in Japan, but my size is all sold out!!
but, in Japan only LO style in only two colors.(silver & yellow)
so that the this news make me feel so Happy!

kritz - most of the time i go down 1.5 sizes for mens. i usually wear a 5.5 in womens and a 4 in mens. it really depends on the brand though, because i wear anything from a 3-4.5 in boys/mens and 5-6 in womens.

I sent an email to shop.tokidoki.it to see if sizing charts for both men’s and women’s sizes could be provided.
I also did a Google search to see where I could find onitsuka shoes to try them on. Journey’s and Nordstrom each carry the line. According to Nordstrom, the shoe sizing runs small (I’m assuming like Puma!), and they suggest ordering a half-size larger than you’d normally wear if buying these shoes for the first time:

i love the sneakers ( must have the cute orange and black ones!) i like the short ones ( big shoes are just too heavy on my feet) and the soles are soo awesomely cute but the one thing that kind of confused about is the sizing. is it men’s sizes on the web site? or is it women’s?

i am the one on the forum that is always asking when that stuff is coming out, and i always get vague, stupid answers. i actually got someone defending jamie and getting all upset that i asked when that stuff was shipping again!
i asked the question on the board about two weeks ago, and was told that the stuff would be arriving in a “couple of weeks”. well it’s now “a couple of weeks” and i have yet to hear anything. i’m upset that your order couldn’t be cancelled. that is really horrible business, and i also fear that japanla isn’t going to be receiving any of this stuff like they said they were going to. i have trouble understanding why they would get their shipment SO much later than the other places.
all i know is they have 200 bucks of my money and i WILL be getting it back if they don’t decide to send out the goods. they should really be more careful, this is the kind of thing that could put them out.

ug. Thanks for your replies, at least I know its not just me that is getting the runaround. I really wanted the items I ordered but now its been so long I really could use the money for other things, I mean originally the items were going to come in April now here we are more than halfway through may and nothing. I am not an impatient person, I think what bothers me most is the total and complete lack of communication that japanla has shown to their paying customers. Any time you take someones money with the promise of suppiling some sort of goods in return, I think its only fair to be upfront and forthcoming when those goods will not be delivered as originally promised. We all paid for items upfront with the notion we would have them in April and to have to email the company asking for updates weeks after the anticipated ship date, I think is ridiculous.

last i saw japanla had posted places that they were expecting stuff in april, as that’s what they were told. i read someplace else about a delay from sanrio. japanla is a very small store with only a few people running it, not a large company (like sanrio or tokidoki), so i think it’s fair to cut them some slack. i’m sure jamie regrets ever taking preorders by now. it’s just not a good situation for anyone.

Usually, JapanLA doesn’t charge until the item comes into the store. At least that was my situation with the tokidoki HK necklace.

I agree, I’m not really mad about the stuff not being here. I mean, it’s annoying, but it’s not JapanLA’s fault.
What is their fault is that I have received one email from them in all this time (3 months) and that the automatic one to confirm my preorder right after. They should have sent out a few mass emails by now just keeping us updated. Especially since they charged everyone’s cards immediately. I’m sure she does regret the preorders, but sort of I regret placing an order with a place that can’t be bothered to contact me about my delayed order.

Hunty, please tell me what item you pre-ordered from tokidoki.it as we are only pre-selling the shoes and have not canceled ANY orders. There must be some confusion and I would be happy to look in to it for you.
In regards to tokidoki for Hello Kitty, it is on it’s way. It has been delayed and is due to arrive in June. It is coming from over seas so unfortunately sometimes there are delays that can not be helped.

wow, i can’t believe there is so much hating going on….the reason we weren’t giving refunds is because we were told they were only a little delayed, and I didn’t want to refund everyone and then have to charge everyone again because the bank charges us lots of fees when we do that…but now that it is really late, we will give refunds to those of you that want them…you will lose your spot though on the reserved items…we have another waiting list of people who want the items too…i’m sorry that the items are late, but there is nothing i can do about it…this is really frustrating for me because I was trying to accomodate the demand for these items by preselling them…JapanLA will never do presale orders again as a result of all this drama…I personally email everyone back who emails me and I have sent out email blasts about the items being late…there is just nothing i can do to make them come faster over from Asia…It sucks for everyone that it is late, I would just appreciate it if you would just email or call me directly and work this out instead of venting on message boards and forums and making assumptions…

japanlajamie - Just like lisa, i also didn’t get a email notification about the HK items being delayed. I found it out on my own from your responses on message boards. Then finally, a few weeks ago it was mentioned in the email announcement for the new TD x HK clothes. But that was being said in general to everyone on JapanLA’s mailing list, not specifically to the people who pre-ordered.
Jamie, I think most people are mad mainly because they were charged upfront more so than the shipment delay. Every place i’ve pre-ordered at works like tokidoki.it works… which is best explained the way Danielle from tokidoki.it put it a few comments above: “Our customers are not charged until the order ships out. Your bank has authorized your card but not charged you at this time.”
Having to pay upfront was not expected by most in turn was very upsetting.
(I didn’t skim through the comments above so I’m aware this may have already been pointed out.)

our online store automatically charges when you order on there and everyone knew they were getting charged right away…it wouldn’t have been an issue if the items arrived on time…the main issue is the stuff is not here yet…i apologize…i do the best i can answering everyone’s emails and sending updates and everything…it just bums me out to hear everyone attacking us on here…i understand you prepaid for the items and it is frustrating…but the only thing i know is the stuff is still coming…so please email or call me if you would like a refund…thanks…jamie

Hi guys,
My bf ordered the shoes for me and he told me he called yesterday and they told him shipping was delayed because of a typhoon. It probably effected the shoes getting to tokidoki.it. At first I thought he was messing with me, but he swears its true. He even asked the person he talked to if they were serious. (Secretly, I still think he is messing with me, but I see none of you have been charged, etc. so maybe its true…)
Also, I’m thinking that the shoes will be available elsewhere later on because on the tokidoki.it website it says “only 500 pairs available for sale on tokidoki.it!” Which would lead me to believe they will be available elsewhere…but who knows?

Hrmph. Knowing how Tokidoki isn’t sold into mainstream places like a Bob’s or Kohls, and if they were, only certain states got them — if you don’t get one of the 500 pairs of sneakers, you lose out.

I’m fairly certain these shoes will be available elsewhere. They most probably won’t show up in other stores until later on. I was pleasantly surprised to have found the Fornarina shoes at a shoe store called “Stoneridge” here in Canada. Then again, prices in this country for American products are still sky-high despite the current exchange rate (and of course, there’s a very valid reason for it).
I may just wait for YOOX to get them in. They carry both Tokidoki and Onitsuka Tiger.

Aw man, leave it to natural disasters. That would explain why other places aren’t getting their shipments either.
As far as retail sale (other than the pre-order), a 5/15 post on the tokidoki blog says that the shoes will hit stores in June, so I’m assuming that 500 was for us die hards to get them early, not to mention generate hype.
But, if this delay is correct, it won’t be June until we get ours either.

A strong typhoon was churning in the Pacific Ocean towards Japan on Tuesday, whipping up high waves and packing powerful winds in the Tokyo area, the weather agency said.
Typhoon Rammasun, which means “god of thunder” in Thai, was causing winds of up to 111 kilometres (69 miles) per hour in the ocean off Tokyo Bay, the Japan Meteorological Agency said.
But the season’s second typhoon was moving northeast at 35 kilometres an hour and as expected to dissipate in the Pacific Ocean without making landfall.
The typhoon comes 10 days after a devastating cyclone hit Myanmar, which says 62,000 people are dead or missing.

Sorry if this question has already been addressed, but I’ve already spent a couple of hours googling this with no luck finding an answer. I’ve read that only 15 US stores will carry the tokidoki for onitsuka tiger shoes. Does anyone know if this is true, and if so, what stores they are? I’m not going to be able to sleep until I have an answer for this. I’d hate to think they’re selling out right now as I sit here just trying to figure out where to find them!

My bf called them today and they said that they shoes *should* be arriving at tokidoki today. Of course, that’s not a guarantee.
I’m still just waiting. At least they don’t charge you until they ship.
I figure if they get them, they’ll ship by the end of the week…?

Hunty…reading your responses brought back frustrations I had with waitng (impatiently) for the TD/Onitsuja Shoes. I was totally on the same boat with you waiting for a message on TD site atleast but none. Danielle was so patient with my emails though but I finally cancelled the order just yesterday. So whoever was on the waiting list for a womens size 5 can now get a pair. I hope they will be shipped out spon to those who pre-ordered.

I’m still hanging in there with my order. I emailed Danielle and got the same response as Hunty about when they thought the shoes would arrive, which was last week at this point. I agree that a little better communication is in order. That’s plain old good customer service and PR if they want to keep customers. Still, I don’t want to cancel my order because I still want my shoes!!
