Additional info about the boots from commenter Jen: “The Tokidoki Chooka boots will retail for $120. They will be sold in the US and Canada, in womens and kids sizes, with multiple prints. I believe there are two confirmed prints now, the one shown above and also a punk print with a leopard background.”
Coming in November 2008 – a 4th 2008 tokidoki bag print! Thanks to Amy for forwarding me this tidbit from Wikipedia:
In November 2008, tokidoki will release a new print with a New Year’s Eve celebration theme. The background color of the bags will be a combination of dark blue and lovely sky blue with sections of white. The print will feature all the beloved tokidoki characters ringing in the new year by toasting champagne and dancing (you can catch Bulleto dancing up a storm and Mozzarella having champagne with a banana haired cave-monkey). Brand new characters will also make their debut on the print such as baby new year, a John Travolta-like dancer with a disco ball head, an Adios-like dancer wearing a magician’s hat (where the hat is the magician), two mice dancing with one another, a cute baby blue chick popping out of a skull and a guy sporting a pair of “2009″ glasses. The print is bright, colorful and fun: tokidoki fans definitely have something wonderful to look forward to.

Coming in 2009: a new tokidoki character will be released as a vinyl toy! Faith let me know that this character was unveiled at the StrangeCo booth at San Diego Comic Con. He’s a monkey named Captain Coco and the people working the StrangeCo booth said he would be due out in 2009. Here are Faith’s pictures of him:

I ADORE Capt. Coco!!! He’s my favorite. I had Simone draw him in my sketchbook during one of his signings at SDCC.

Captain Coco is beyond KAWAII! I can’t wait until he comes out. I am so glad I passed on the Chooka Koi rainboots last year – I’m snapping up a pair of those Tokidoki ones!

I was at Macy’s in Braintree, MA today & they had both Carnival & Mezzanotte bags in!! They didnt have every bag style & not too many of the styles they did have, but I was stoked to check out some of the other styles in person!!!!
to anyone wondering about the rainboots:
they’re going to be made by Chooka, who make outstanding boots for both kids and adults. sizing is a little on the big side, so err on the side of small when ordering. for example, i wear a size 9-9.5 (US) sneaker and currently own a pair of size 9 Chooka rainboots. they’re big enough that i can wear them over a pair of jeans and still be able to move comfortably. however, they only come in whole sizes.
can’t wait to get a pair!!
Has anyone been able to find the chooka/tokidoki rainboots? I called Nordstrom in Seattle, WA and they don’t have them.
So far it’s a ‘no-go’ in San Diego as well
