Jennifer from Washington Shoe Company, who will manufacture the tokidoki x Chooka rainboots, sent me these photos of another potential rainboot style that may be produced. What does everyone think of the construction of the rain pup style below vs. the construction of the rain boot that I posted previously? Do you like both styles of boot construction or do you think one style is better than the other?
i like the colors better on this one…maybe i’m just not a fan of leopard print
Jess, I am referring to the construction of the boots rather than to the prints. Do you prefer the way the bottom of the boot looks in my old post or in this post? (the boots in this post also have an added buckle strap across the ankle) I just edited the wording of the post to try to make that more clear.
I personally like these a lot more. I’m even considering purchasing a pair if they come in my size. The bottom reminds me of Converse/sneakers. So it’s like a modern sneaker, rain boot… if that makes sense hehe.
I hate the strap across the ankle. It divides the print too much. So I vote for the previous post style as my favorite.

I actually prefer the style of this one. I like the flatter sole (more shoe like) and the strap. I probably wouldn’t buy the other style, but would consider this one (don’t get much rain in Cali though
i think the strap is a bit odd. i’m not sure about the soles. they look more sneaker-like on the bottoms, and so far i think i like the first version better overall. not sure i’d wear either, though.

I prefer the flat sole on the newer pictures, but the boot doesn’t need the straps.

I prefer these ones. The buckle on the ankles adds both contrast and adds something unique to the shape/line of the boot that I enjoy. And also, the soles make it appear unlike a traditional rain boot which I would never purchase otherwise. If these end up going into production I will buy one in every color that they come in. Including the leopard print!! I love things that make you stand out and most people don’t have the confidence to wear. These fit the bill perfectly.
I prefer the first version posted previously. I will not buy these but I was/am planning on buying the others. They seem more trendy with a little bit of heel to me . . . I am more of a heel girl though . . .
I love the first version. The taller boots do something much better for my legs – with these I’ll be looking kinda stumpy. I also like the grommeted sole – better traction in the slush, which I’ll be seeing plenty of this winter!
oh goodness! I prefer these! If you aren’t really gona use em in the rain, n wear it everyday (like me) then this style is the best choice since it looks more like a shoe-boot than a rain-boot…and I think the strap makes it look more chic. it makes you wana look it more actually. The sneaker bottom gives it shape too~its a new twist on rainboots! My vote is on thisa one!
I like the first ones better, too…provided more traction. I also do not like the strap on the newer style…make it a bit too crazy to look at.

I like these ones wayyy more. I think these are more stylish and I really like the gold buckle on the leopard ones.
I like these better. They are also shorter than the other ones, which is good for people with muscular calves like me because then they’ll fit well (the other ones won’t fit me right).
I like these better as the style is more wearable on a day to day basis. They look more comfortable too.
I agree, these are better. They don’t look too much like rainboots, so I’d wear these even if it’s not raining!

I absolutely prefer this boot over the other! I love the converse look of the sole, the white solid strip at the top and bottom that makes the boot more neat. the bleed of print off the shoe in the previous rain boot post is too much on the eyes. It was so busy that it made you not even want to look at the print. because there is a break of print with a solid color it allows your eye to focus on the print. I also love the attention to detail with the buckle. Its adorable and more feminine than to not have it. I think it gives a very modern twist on typical galashes. i love this version waaay better! be sure to let us know when they drop! im first in line!!

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to let you know that the tokidoki chooka boots will not be in stores by 10/1 as previously expected. Looks like it will be more towards the end of October or beginning of November.

trendystars.com has posted pictures of the rainboots in adults and children sizes and states that for preorder will be accepted soon. The style of boot shown on the trendystars site is the first style posted by tokidoki-blog (the syle without the strap accross the bottom).
i love the new boots! they look really sheek. i just can’t decide which pair to get..
So if the previous boot is at preorder status, does that mean that they will NOT be producing this one? Personally, I like this one much better. I hope they will make this one too!!
I wouldn’t even consider buying the prior one – it looks too mom’ish. This rainboot is cute and young and I would definitely buy a pair.
I love this style. I would have bought a pair of the first style if they didn’t come out with these. I can’t wait till they come out.

the second style is so much more original than all the other regular boring rain boots… the strap across the ankle adds to the original design as well as the flat sole (which is certainly more sneaker-like). I want to go online right now to buy a pair. ^-^ unfortunately there is no store in the Netherlands that sells Tokidoki T_T otherwise I would sleep in front of the store to be able to get my hands on these really cute boots!!!!!!!!!!
I love both styles, but if I had to choose I’d take the second pair! I want them and need rain boots.
