As you will see, some of the 2008 bag styles are returning, some have been retired, and there are 5 new styles: Imagini, Magia, Marina, Melodia, and Ragazza.
I am not loving this design too much either, maybe it will have to grow on me. Seems too busy, can’t see character.
Kinda reminds me of some of the “Betsyville” bigs from betsy johnson
I like the print but I will have to choose between a new bag or the shoes. I will probably go for the shoes. I want the gray pair but don’t know how it will fit since it is a unisex model.

Bought it from Pulse online Saturday, got it today. I adore the print, but the fabric isn’t nearly as thick as the Carnival. Nice and soft, but too thin.

Happy Six in L.A. has the new Leo print bags on display. They also just got a shipment of the Ombra bags (all black)… I didn’t think I was going to like the new print, but it is sooo cute in person. The new styles are really awesome too….

Jen- I use Lisa Frank folders at work. I used to have a Lisa Frank trapper keeper with a banana and pineapple in a bikini.
It looks great in person. The Marina is a good sized bag, too. Clcik to see mine next to my Sorriso.

Does anyone knows what is the style of the 7th one down (little messenger bag?) Thanks!
7th down is the Marina. It’s measurements are: 10″ x 4 1/4″ x 10″ The strap is the same as Sorriso. The insides aren’t the nylon but more of a microfiber (beige) and the cord for the key clip is leather. The key clip size is reduced and is a gold clip that matches the exterior hardware.
I think it’s really cute, but I too wish the print were a bit larger. I think it helps you see the characters better and eliminates the tendency of the print repeating on a larger bag.
I will definitely get one of them when they go on sale!

The bags are way cuter in person. These photos make my eyes hurt too, but in real life they are not crazy bright. I think the white background is making them look super bright and the flash from the camera. If you live in L.A. come to JapanLA to check them out in person or check the website for pics taken at the store.

Personally, I like it. Simone is a talented designer, and is NOT losing his touch. He is also an extremely nice guy; I emailed him, and he emailed me the NEXT day. He is a great designer, and isn’t losing his touch, k?
I agree with mos of the others here, not really a fan of this print.
Or anything since Carnival… lol. Eco Mondo was a cute idea, but the colors were too dark for me!
I think I’m starting to grow tired of Tokidoki ~ at least the new stuff. I still love all of the old prints & characters, but the new ones.. not so much anymore. The new Tokidoki x Hello Kitty line is the first new stuff I’ve liked in awhile. I think Simone’s style is changing & becoming more mainstream to suit his growing audience. I think it’s great he’s become so successful, & I’m happy that so many people have grown to love his work now, but Tokidoki has lost it’s magic that it used to have for me. I liked how different it was before, & now it has sort of lost that.
Nevertheless, I still check back here quite often just in case something new that I happen to love comes out. & I’m still collecting clothing/bags & figures from older lines. [& I'm looking forward to plush Adios & Ciao Ciao!]
Zoe Zoe Zoe, I also emailed Simone recently and he also replied the next day. I was really surprised that he was so nice.
By the way everyone, this is off topic but Simone will not be a NYC comic con this year. Too bad because I would have gone if he was there. I’m hoping he will be at the opening of the LA store wich I hope will be announced soon because I’m planning a trip to LA for that.
Does anyone know if Simone will be at Comic Con San Diego in July, ’09?
Marie and Zoe Zoe Zoe, I too have emailed Simone about 3 years ago and he wrote me back the very next day. Simone is the nicest, coolest and one of the most talented designers ever. Maybe he is trying to reach a different group of consumers who would pass him previously? If so, I wish him the best.

Thanks for the link to Japan LA, those pictures are way better! These pictures here make it look harsh. I just wish the charaters were bigger so they could stand out a little more. All the charaters are what makes me love Tokidoki!
I met Simone at Comic con in SD last year and he is super nice! I love that guy! He was so sweet to my 5 year old. He drew her the cute little penguins from the Vacanze line. I really hope he’ll be at comic con this year too. I love seeing him in action drawing his characters. He does them so nicely and so fast too. Seriously guys, he’s the nicest guy ever! I told him how thankful I was and how it’s so great that he takes the time to draw a picture for everyone instead of just a simple name autograph like most ppl and he said that he’s more than happy to do so cuz he loves his fans and he knows that he owes everything to them. Such a great guy!

I received my Amica from Pulse today.. I think the print looks fantastic! (and yes, it is definitely like the pics on Japan L.A. rather than those on here). I also like that on this Amica the side pockets are NOT mesh (yuck!). I was a huge fan of Lisa Frank when I was a kid, so maybe that explains why I like this, I dunno. I think the small print is nice.
I just got a Serena from Pulse yesterday. The Serena is really a stylish bag. I think Tokidoki took into consideration what is popular now when they designed this bag. I love the Zucca and Carezza style the best but I can see why they made the switch for this season.
I have always liked Leopard print so I’m biased but I think the Leo print is really cute. Geometrica Girl is the one that I’ll pass on.
When I ran into him the other day, Simone said the LA tokidoki store opening would be delayed, probably until around July

I really like that other print! The characters are much more pronounced. But, I dunno if that’s it or not. I wonder if that’s the Discoteca print. Because, That one really doesn’t seem geometric… and I didn’t see a girl on it. Haha. What does anyone else think/know about it?
Has anyone found any of the newer Tokidoki Bag lines anywhere in Hawaii (the non LSS ones). I only saw one at Macy’s but it looked like a return – there was only one and it was on the same racks as the kidrobot stuff.
Any sighting info would be much appreciate…birthday is coming up soon so I need to drop some hints to my hubby
ihatTDfakes: prototype will be getting the new bags feb.25 they have a vip line so they will call when it comes in. They also mentioned they will have a big party and such. Drop by the store or give them a call for all the details. I go to prototype a lot so its nice they let me know. Idk if metropark still has any left but that’s where I bought my rocker carezza from. OMG!! Love love love the pink print. I must start saving!! That has to be the geometric girl print, there is a big square head on the phone bag. Horray, I wasn’t really feeling the Leo and I don’t see myself being all matchy matchy with my discoteca boots.

I super love them, and I know that I’ve said this before, but it’s true. I wore leopard print before anyone else did last year, and I adore it. Maybe you can’t see ALL the characters, but guess what?? You’ll live. The leopard print is SUPPOSED to be duller so the pinks and reds will stand out. I think the print is unique and alluring. Also, Elisabetta said that she emailed him like three years ago, and I emailed him not that long ago, and he still replied almost the next day. So if you think that he’s changed or something, think again.
I believe that the Melodia (phone case) is Geometric Girl and the other colorful bags are Discoteca.

Zoe Zoe Zoe not all Tokidoki prints appeal to everyone ! I have been collecting since the very start in 2006 ! And not EVERY print appeals to me ! So I don’t buy all of them , everyone has the right to their views ! I don’t like animal prints and I won’t be buying this print !

I think as an astist Simone would appreciate HONEST feedback in regards to his work . How boring and uninteresting if we all blindly love everything he did ! That is what I love about Steph’s Blog is we are able to honestly discuss what we love and are not crazy about in regards to new prints ! And for your information Zoe Zoe Zoe the very Tokidoki Blog which you are currently posting on the creator Steph is not crazy about Spiaggia and she has voiced it and she does not own a single item in that print ! She is one of the most devoted and helpful Tokidoki Fans I know ! Does that make her any less of a fan ! Relax we are expressing our views ! Something in which this Blog’s creator Steph has ALWAYS let us do !

I just have my favorites of Simone’s work is all. Who doesn’t have a favorite charater and print? I have all my favorite charaters tattooed around my leg to look like a Tokidoki sock lol! I also favor the old LSS line because I love the quality of LSS is all. There were prints in that line that I didn’t like also, that’s okay though because I didn’t buy those.
Whatever that bag is I am loving it. Hopefully some more pictures of these will surface soon!
