Reader Jessi just spotted a new tokidoki bag print and style on eBags.com – the Mimiteca print Incontro! (Update: Kathleen has also spotted Mimiteca on eBay.) It looks similar to the Marina bag style, but the retail price is $40 less – woo-hoo!
Puasmommy also noticed that there appear to be two Frenzies attached to the bag instead of the Adios keychain, which is a fun change.

Sorry Guys! But I disagree–This print is a defintely a step waaaayyyy dow for Tokidoki. I LOVE all the previous prints, but this one I would have to pass on, which is kinda good, since I spent a fortune already:)

Actually… sure, it’s a little simplistic / recycled for a Tokidoki print, but I wouldn’t mind having a more “muted” Tokidoki bag right about now anyway.

Hey there’s no rainbow zipper on this new tokidoki print.
The only thing I like is the lining and the Adios and Ciao Ciao charms : / Slightly off topic but does anyone know about the unicorn print that’s coming out? I’d love to see the print in advance ^_^
I like the style a lot, I love the lining, and I like the blue edging on the leather. And I like the characters featured on this print. But the gold zipper is a bummer! And the colors don’t seem to go together very well… But, I didn’t like the Leo pattern, then I saw it in person and I thought it was really cute. So, I’ll have to just wait and see!
Outside material has a more canvas texture not soft parachute material like past prints which is why they are probably lower in price. Saw them in Glendale Macy’s today.
I can see, from that ebay picture of the bag, why people would like it. I would probably not buy it-but after staring at the pictures and really trying to figure out what was changes in the design of the bag it kinda grew on me and I actually noticed that it is supposed to be an army print. COOL. Being such a Tokidoki addict I understand why people would buy it–just being a fan and collecting prints.
I still feel it is a bit too muted for me.
I will pass on this one too ! Not a fan ! ( Even with the cheaper prices ! ) I know that Tokidoki stated that they are trying to lower the prices due to the bad economy but I am not liking it enough to buy ! I saw the Mimetica print as well as the other two prints due to be released and my wallet is breathing a HUGE sigh of relief as I am not buying any of them !
Of course I am reserving my judgement until I see them in person . ( But it so happens if I don’t like the prints from the moment I see them chances are I won’t buy it ! ) I don’t like that they discontinued the Carezza style also . Less bag choices either ! And no more accessories !

I saw in the catalog that there will be wallets for the new prints. But there was no detail so I don’t know if they will look like the denaro. Not sure if i will get the wallet though since I purchased the Hello kitty for Tokidoki series 4 long wallet…I will skip this print, I’m waiting for the unicorn print and my boyfriend wants the fantasimo print.
I saw the bags in person this weekend, And I have to say, You can definitely tell the difference in quality alot of the cool little details arent there , I sat there and tryed to like it but I just found myself pointing out what was missing, They just don’t have the same spirit the other bags do…..What do you guys think??
Definitely not my type of print. I do like the idea of having a canvas type material for it, but no rainbow zipper? How sad.
I recently bought the laptop bag in the Discoteca print. Absolutely love it. I use it like a messenger bag, too.
I wonder if the next prints are also going to be canvas material. I’m not too crazy about canvas, to me it feels kinda cheap.
Then again, I didn’t like the nylon material of the other bags at first either, but it grew on me once I figured out that it was easy to clean (after a bad night of drinking, ‘nuf said).
I’m so disappointed with Toki these days. It went from being unique art to commercial sell-out stuff. I went to comic con this weekend from the midwest with the one purpose of maybe getting to meet simone. Not only was he not working his own booth, his signing was limited to the first 60 people to reach the booth for a ticket. Needless to say teenybopper kids beat me every day. So no signing or sighting for me. The people at the booth were rude and had nothing above a mens small was for sale after that I’m really off toki for a while. When it is more about the money than the art it is sad.
i like this bag. yes, it may not be as colorful a print, but i am a true collector.

I’m pretty selective in what I buy because of my budget and the prices in general. I never thought I’d pay over $100 for a bag in my life! I’ve gotten most of the older patterns that I wanted, and now I wait for something to really pop before I buy. I just waited until now to get a Leo print because I wasn’t sure that I liked it. Now that I have it, I love it. This new one, I’ll wait on. See what else is coming down the pike. I am disappointed that there’s no rainbow zipper too. I always thought that was an iconic part of the line.
I’m with you MagicLoaf I love Tokidoki and have collected the line since almost the very start ! But I can’t justify buying a bag just because it is a Tokidoki . I mean I don’t own every bag and every print even from the Tokidoki For LeSportSac line . I am very selective as far as bag style , print , as well as print placement . ( Which I am super picky about ! ) .
I am disappionted that there is no more rainbow zipper , the canvas material is not much of a lure , and the bag styles are much the same very square and boxy . Not much of a selection anymore just the same bag but different sizes . And the prints are not as unique as they once were . I know one of the members of Tokidoki’s staff commented that they are trying to make the brand more accessable and affordable but I think in doing so they took too much away from what made the Tokidoki line unique and special not just your everyday brand !
I agree–it’s the little details (as well as the print designs of course!) that make the bags so special and unique. Maybe they had to be sacrificed in an effort to bring the price down? I do like the patterned inner lining on these bags, that’s a nice touch.
I have also seen the the new ” Fantasma ” print and I am not wild about it either ! It is a black background ( solid ) with the print ” hidden ” in red outlining throughout the print . And there is the Tokidoki heart and crossbones on the purse . I believe it has been spotted in some East Coast Macy’s Stores already so East Coast girls keep your eyes out ! But it has the gold zippers , same boxy square shapes , and not enough of interest in the print for me to buy !
I still consider myself a collector however as I mentioed I don’t HAVE to own every print ever made as these latest prints have been a no for me !
I do not like this new style at all.What’s funny is that I got the Tokidoki school bags from Target, they were cheap and I liked the design. This one I just see getting piled in the clearance bins. but I also cant stand the lesportsac bags due to that strip that says lesportsac all over it.
They can do much better than this.
Macy’s in Pearlridge has ALL the new styles of Mimetca and Fantasma. The new styles are really nice for the price. The Fantasma is quite gorgeous with the hidden print. gaahh my poor wallet needs a rest lol

Sorry to hear your Comic-Con experience was so negative. I flew out to San Diego for one day two years ago for the express purpose of meeting Simone and was lucky enough to do so at that time, so I know where you’re coming from. Had you been to the con before?
That being said, Simone was at the tokidoki booth for much of the weekend, signing for his fans. He doesn’t get there first thing in the morning, but he is there most of the day; I saw him every time we went by the booth. He does not put a limit on what he will sign at Comic-Con, and he spends quite a bit of time doing sketches or customising items that people bring up. He also will stand up and have pictures taken with fans after he done signing their items. He spends quite a bit of time with each person, which is why they have to put a cap on the number of people. He puts a lot of work into the event and hardly gets a break! I spoke to someone who had something signed by him on Friday evening and he mentioned that Simone was obviously exhausted from signing and talking to his fans all day, but it’s also obvious he enjoys it.
I was also not able to get tickets to his signing at the tokidoki booth this year. (The booth employees told us to come at 9.30 on Saturday to get tickets, but they were gone at 9.35; apparently they’d given them away earlier.) But he did have another signing at the Toy Tokyo booth on Saturday between 5-7 that I was able to get tickets to. All the fans I saw were not teenyboppers; I stood behind two guys in their late 20s and in front of a woman in her 40s! The rest of the line was varied as well.
While I don’t really care for the Target line and I’m not fond of every print, I hardly think it’s a matter of selling out. This is about a guy who has managed to take his art and make a business out of it. I think most people dream of being successful like this. I think it’s a bit harsh to call him a sell out just because he’s been successful. I personally love the fact that I can own all kinds of tokidoki items.

I do not like the new bag print at all (and I bought like all of the latest releases). Happy Six in W. L.A. has the new bag print in if anyone wants to see it.
Animation Addict in Ala Moana (formerly by Splash by Makai Market – now it moved, it’s closer to Sears on the Juicy side) has LOTS of Tokidoki…they always have the new Tokidoki shirts and accessories. I always love going in there…and now with the bigger store…I can stay in there for hours!

Seriously girls save your money this print is not to die for I am certain the Target bags WILL outlive these. Mimetica material is nylon but a very coarse looking nylon like the very cheap stuff you buy at streetside flea markets. The zipper is ordinarily gold nothing special about the leather bits and the lining even. Overall the color and the style look very cheapskate. Quality is definitely compromised on this line. If you like the qees go buy the Frenzies, they are exactly the same dolls.

The last bags were made by LeSportsac even if they did not have the logo on them. I wonder if Tokidoki associated with another company for the new bags (no rainbow zippers, different material, price range). I would have prefered that they kept the price of the bags like the first line of original LeSportsac and kept the quality too!
I see that the bags are up on tokidoki.it…but did they increase the prices again? Wasn’t the incontro suppose to retail for $48? How come it’s selling for $128??

i hate to say this coz i am a big fan of tokidoki but i went yo macys to check out the new collection and was very much disappointed about the material they used on the bag… looks to cheap!!! ugghhh… it makes the artwork kinda like faded or something. theiy bags used to be so vibrant voz of the artwork. bcoz of the material they used, it’s turning me off.
@elizabeth: totally agree with u. big sell out. lowering the prices in expense of quality is never a good business tactic.
