I’m back again and catching up on tokidoki news! First up is the recent release of the new Stella Nera print – available now in the tokidoki.it store, Karmaloop (where you can get them for 10% off with Karmaloop rep code SR426 at checkout) and JapanLA (thank you S. Bird, Tatiana, and Alice for the heads up). Stella Nera comes in the same bag styles as the Mimiteca and Fantasma prints. What does everyone thinkof this new print?
Next up, reader Susy from Brazil let me know that Brazilian shoe company Melissa will be releasing a new line of tokidoki for Hello Kitty sandals soon – and she sent the photo below to share with us. They’re cute!
the new clothes are cute, but these prints for the bags are less than impressive. i want to see a really nice new york citta style print with the gorilla, hamburgers, buildings and stuff, not this over simplified adios stuff which has been way overdone. man, i sound like a downer.

I like this print for a smaller item like a cosmetics case or wallet, but not for the whole bag. It seems like the black and white Adios print has been overdone.

I actually like the more subtle tokidoki prints. I’m getting to a stage in my life where I can’t really respectably wear the crazy prints everywhere anymore, and I’m glad that tokidoki is growing up with me.
I am not a fan ! Too boring and plain for my tastes ! I miss the older Tokidoki For LeSportSac prints so much ! Plus they discontinued some great bag styles . ( Carezza & Amica anyone ? ) Plus with the all gold zippers , change in fabric , and the newer bag styles are making have to pass .
I am a 37 year old mother of a three year old and have ” respectably ” worn my Tokidoki bags proudly ! Never been a problem with me in respect to wearing ” crazy prints ” ! But to each their own I suppose . Oh well leaves me more cash to add to my Tokidoki For LeSportSac collection .
It hardly stops me dead in my tracks. I miss the heart palpitations, the squeels of excitement, when a new Tokidoki bag that I JUST HAVE TO HAVE comes out! : (
this new prints is better than the camo one… this reminds me of when i first received the carbone amica bag.. i go like.. hm… hopefully they will come out something like the inside liner pattern.. here you go….

well…. i love the shoes. i love Melissa shoes period.
but these last three prints are a snooze fest. still am crazy about tokidoki and i still think simone is amazing… but i’m not sure what’s up with this new direction…. but i’m not loving it.

lifeofwiley, you don’t sound like a downer, and I very much agree with your opinion. I miss the old classic prints a lot. These newer ones are definitely of a new style, which isn’t bad, but these compared to the older Lesprtsac ones show that they are two very different types of purses.

When i first spotted this print I thought it looked nice for the wallet or cosmetic bag, but as a whole i wouldn’t buy into to. It is pretty plain, even with the adios stars all over. I bought the Incontro fantasma bag and i like the subtle details (and its my first subtle tokidoki bag in general :] ), but this print looks overdone.
Ill wait for more Hello Kitty x tokidoki

the fans seem to be upset lately about the deciisions TK has been making.

The shoes are sort of cute, but I’m not really into flipflops (I have 1 pair & I never wear them!).
If i didn’t have an adios star bag from Lesportsac, i would be all over the nobile bag in stella nera. Its really the shape of the bag that i like.

nope us men arent that happy with the latest clothing collections..lol…8p ..As far as the bags, it seems that the new prints are coming more frequent and unexpectedly, and they seem to be less “thought out”…like just plain.. It would be nice to see them come out in seasons again, kinda like they did with LSS. I noticed that this also happened with Harajuku Lovers…it seemed that they came out in like 2 or 3 printsa season, and then bam, the prints start coming out randomly…8(..im not sure why this bothers me, but it does. i think it makes it more “generic” , not necessarily in a bad way, but there is no “ta-da” factor.
That bag looks like it would cost about $40.

I agree the prints just don’t make me want to spend that kind of money ! I thought Tokidoki said that they were going to lowering the prices on the current lines due to the public complaining if the high prices . But given all the recent changes gold zippers , fabric change , and they discontinued some pretty great bags I am no longer as interested in the brand for right now ! I think Tokidoki changed too many things at once !
For the body of work right now as well as all the changes I think the prices should be much lower than they are ! It seems there are more fans NOT liking the new print or the changes ! I have a feeling that this newest line will be in clearance soon enough so if you have to have it wait it out for the good deals I’m sure that they will be out there soon !
On another note did anyone from the New York area make it out to LeSportSac’s latest sample sale ? It started yesterday . I am curious to see what was on sale since I heard Tokidoki was also on sale too ? How were the prices ? What prints were available ? What bag styles ? Was it a madhouse ? How were the crowds ? I think the sale is today as well ! Please post all the news in regards to the sample sale girls !
I like this Adios print, I also like the fact there are Adios/Caio character mascots. Unless, I have a 20% from Macy’s it’s hard for me to drop serious cash as well.
I’m not really impressed with the last few prints. The clothes that are coming out are on point, I just wish there was a bag print that would get me excited about Tokidoki bags again because I just can’t justify spending that much on a bag that I think is just “alright”. Like last week, I needed a new baby bag and actually bought a Paul Frank bag instead because it was just way cuter than what Tokidoki has to offer right now.
Tokidoki is so blah right now, I keep checking to see if anything super cute is added but nope, same old blah stuff, but at least Im not a guy! their stuff is just sad.lol
