Astronauta Print
Readers Tati and Dana were the first to notice that the tokidoki.it store just added a new tokidoki bag print called Austronauta. This print features shimmery silver tokidoki logos with rainbow stitching and a switch to black leather trim (also with rainbow stitching). Some pictures of how the new print looks on various bag styles are below.

A bit Minimalist… but I like it!
October 28th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
I find it very boring.
October 28th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
I agree, there’s a little too much blank space
I always thought if he made an outerspace print it would be more of a scene…

they have 2 new hoodies for women at thegiantpeach! I think the popcorn one is so cute!!
October 28th, 2009 at 1:52 pm
cute, i love spacey stuff, but i wish it had more characters on it or was a little more cluttered
October 28th, 2009 at 2:41 pm
very cute details - i love the metallic logo and the stitching is so cute. and hooray for black trim!
but… snoozefest print. i agree with ashley and heather. a space print could be SO cute with lots of stars and maybe even a tokidoki-style alien!
i don’t understand why these new prints are so sparse…

It is a bit minimalist, but I like the rainbow stitching…
October 28th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
very cute!
October 28th, 2009 at 3:52 pm
This print is OUT OF THIS WORLD!
Haha, I am lame. It is sorta cute tho (:
October 28th, 2009 at 3:56 pm
I wish there were more action goin on
Cute tho
October 28th, 2009 at 4:07 pm
I like it, but I think it would have had more of a pop using a darker background, maybe like a dark purple or blue(like in the Eurpean planner)… I also wish he would have added in the one astronaut chick from the Euro planner, but eh I’m still going to get atleast one piece XD
October 28th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
I think it’s cute :]

I see what you girls are saying about the minimal design.. but space isn’t cluttered! There’s a whole lot of nothing out there! Hehe. I love space and aliens and robots and planets.. so I really really like this design! It’s really different from his other designs which had a lot of repeats (i’m not complaining, though! They’re all cute!!). I really like this print, though..
October 28th, 2009 at 5:55 pm
It’s really cute (:
October 28th, 2009 at 5:57 pm
very cute love the gold chain
October 28th, 2009 at 6:07 pm
Holy crud, I actually like that. Is cute.
But I can also see why others don’t like it.
October 28th, 2009 at 6:41 pm
It’s the ugliest I’ve seen to date : (
October 28th, 2009 at 7:40 pm

I miss when they used to actually have like a picture on a bag, and it was all about placement. That was the fun of shopping for them!
It’s still cute, but it kind of lost it’s touch of the art.
I wish the rainbow zippers would come back, too.
October 29th, 2009 at 2:45 am
I always find it so interesting to see how mixed everyone can be about the different prints. I do miss the days of the themed LeSportSac ones. My boyfriend was saying he should do a movie theatre one with all the different characters. Maybe even a scene of a shopping mall or a restaurant.

It looks like diaper prints…
October 29th, 2009 at 11:59 am
Hahahahahaha!!!! Nini, you are right! I didn’t realize it until you said it, but it does look like diaper prints. I am still on the fence as to whether I like this print or not enough to purchase one… The new hello kitty collab is fabulous though.
October 29th, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Awww.. yeah, you’re right, they do look like diaper prints.
Yeah, I do miss theme prints.. or setting prints. Like at the beach, or a personal fave.. the punk concert theme. I also loved the green theme where everyone was recycling.
I really like that recent Hello Kitty theme, though! They ran out of the overnight duffle bag and the purse before I even got to go inside.

*Yawn*……This one may be the most bland one yet…pass.
October 29th, 2009 at 1:47 pm
To hear Tokidoki is doing a “space” print, Ones imagination runs wild about how cute it will be, and all the wonderful possibilities………and then they give you THIS?!?…….Wow…..What happened to Tokidoki?!?
October 29th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Ugh! I give up.
October 30th, 2009 at 7:33 am
“Eww” is all I have to say.
October 31st, 2009 at 3:39 pm
where’s the design complexity?
November 2nd, 2009 at 12:27 am
DUMB.
November 2nd, 2009 at 8:21 am
hate it
November 2nd, 2009 at 2:43 pm
Eww! It looks like a fake! That is seriously the new print?! Even the chatacters look cheap. Somebody needs to be fired.
November 3rd, 2009 at 2:55 am
Maybe if the characters were a little bigger it would be cuter.
…..ugghh hate it!
November 3rd, 2009 at 5:40 pm
They look like they cost $20 @ the SwapMeet
I would never carry that around
November 3rd, 2009 at 5:55 pm
I think it is a very cute bag. I like the simplicity of it. I really like the rainbow sitching though. I have not seen any of the new line in person so I might be sad if the material is as bad as everyone is saying.
November 5th, 2009 at 12:56 am
Umm, Yeah the “Rainbow stitching” in no way makes up for the lack of the Rainbow zippers. FAIL.
Cut the price in half and MAYBE we’ll talk
November 6th, 2009 at 2:32 am
Wow! How in the world did “that” print get a thumbs up to mass produce??!! My nephew can do better than that! Look at the characters! There is nothing to them, everything about it is just BLAH!
November 9th, 2009 at 11:49 pm
Wow I cannot begin to express my disappointment in these new prints
There are so many cool ways they could have approached the space theme and found great inspiration from *Star Wars* and you really wouldn’t even know it was taking place in space with this white backdrop. And okay I don’t like things being too clustered but really??!! they put like 5 characters on the whole bag and repeated it over and over. The lesportsac prints were definitely the best and each theme such as the foresta or spiaggia where done very effectively and the characters were fun! Some of the later prints like the Circus print and Eco mondo where nice but I think after that series it slowly began to go downhill from there. Also I miss the rainbow zipper because it really was a defining point and trademark for these bags
I will take a pass on these bags *which is probably a good thing for my wallet* and hopefully there will be a better series in the near future.
November 10th, 2009 at 12:18 am
What? They didnt have money to color in the chatacters? I know they are tring to skip corners to save a dime, But come on, this is depressing.
November 11th, 2009 at 2:11 am
uninspired and uninspiring…
November 11th, 2009 at 9:34 pm
ALL the Tokidoki bags are on clearance at Macys, They had a huge pile of them on a table for like 40% off + 10% extra if you use your Macys card , I talked to the counter girl and she said they were not selling and she doubts they will get any of the newer ones in the future….ouch! I guess we wernt the only ones that didn’t care for them…
November 11th, 2009 at 9:36 pm
P.s
Even with the sale I could not bring myself to buy one … I hate the “new” material & prints.
November 12th, 2009 at 1:23 pm
I know what you mean, Rory. I was somewhat okay with some of the prints, but the material is pretty cheesy.
December 20th, 2009 at 5:46 am
i just bought it for 50% off and extra 20% off from macy’s.
yes, i would say it’s a bit plain, but the offer is just hard to let go of. then again, because it’s plain, it’s special. looks really “classic & classy” rather than “cute & adorable” for a change.
besides, i really liked the rainbow stiching.
December 30th, 2009 at 9:08 pm
its cute but a bit BLANK
January 4th, 2010 at 11:04 pm
i’ve got to say, i was a huge fan when they dawned the lesportsac logo; the BAGS were much better quality.
i recently purchased this print, not a HUGE fan of the artwork, but 40% off and a macy’s giftcard made it worth while. i didn’t realize how cheaply made these bags are now. the actual fabric feels like one of those damn eco-bags you pick up at your grocery stores for a $1. the hardware, the stitching, just terrible. i am not impressed in the least and certainly hope they plan to make better bags for what the original price was ($108, for the nobile, $80 with the 60 off, plus shipping and taxes.). i’ll say the only positive is the size of the nobile, very clever and comfortable.. just horrendous quality.
