Cartolina, Pepe, and Carmella tokidoki Bag Prints

Today the first of the 2010 tokidoki bags were added to the tokidoki.it store – three new prints called Cartolina, Pepe, and Carmella.

This is Cartolina:

This is Pepe:

And this is Carmella:

These 2010 tokidoki bags have  silver hardware (including solid silver colored zippers) and a new tokidoki logo charm instead of qees or frenzies.   Thank you Puasmommy and Joyce for being the first to notice that they were up!

I like the new print and the upbeat detail. I’m not quite sure how I feel about the gi-nourmous pink logo, though!

I just bought the Fascino Tote in Cartolina. It’s fabulous! I must say Pepe is boring and I really don’t care for Carmella at all. Yuck.

Win some lose some I guess!

I love the first print, it is deffinetly more TKDK style but the last two are just waaayyyy to plain. Nothing exciting or fun about them. But i can’t wait to buy the first. yay

Pepe is the same style as Fantasma.. only with the silver hardware instead of gold and pink stitch pattern instead of red..
Carmella is not a solid pink. It has the same pattern as Pepe but it’s very hard to see unless it’s in light because the pink is so bright.
And the Cartolina is a bit ‘loud’ for my taste….

    My mom says I need to stop buying bags anyways so it’s good that I don’t really care for these patterns (I have Fantasmo anyways so buying Pepe would be a waste) @_@;

Cartolina is like the bag I’ve been waiting for .. for two year LOL. I like the crazy styled print. I am not crazy about the Pepe or Carmelle, they are really plain for Tokidoki. Plus.. if I wanted a plain bag I would of bought the Mezzanotte.

The New York Rushy style the Cartolina has attracts me (:

I love the Cartolina print, but not enough to stop using my 35th anniversary HK tote. Hopefully they’ll be on clearance at Karmaloop by the time I’m sick of my current bag!!

And I’m happy the silver hardware is back, now all they have to do is bring back the rainbow zippers!!

I like the return to a pattern with a theme! Loving the travel photos in this one. I might even consider splurging and getting one these bags if they look good in person.

I also ordered a Cartolina Fascino bag. I just love the busy and themed print. At first I didn’t like the pink trimmings, but now it’s grown on me and I love the whole look.

I have to agree that Pepe looks like Fantasma, but I didn’t really like Fantasma because of the red trim and stitching. However, I really love this combination of pink and black. I would get a wallet in this print, but it has no change area and that’s a real bummer.

I have to say that the Carmella is not appealing at all.

I dont know if macy’s is still going to carry them, Last time I went the bags were all on clearance and the girl said, They weren’t selling and she was pretty sure they were not getting any new ones.. :-(
I myself dont like any of the new bags at all, the pink makes them look cheap & tacky.

HelloKoopa, is the Hello Kitty tote a canvas fabric or the traditional TK fabric?

  26. Kelly says:

I just received my Fascino Tote in Cartolina. It’s not nearly as vibrant as the pictures, in fact it’s very dull. The hot pink contrast makes the fabric look even duller. It is in fact a canvas fabric and I don’t feel the bag is worth the cost by any means. It’s very flimsy and thin. The straps will wear out or fray in no time. I’m going to return it.

Does anyone know if the marvel line will include bags? If it does I will give one of those a try. The print would be great enough to make up for the crap quality it will most likely be.

I love you Tokidoki, but I am very disappointed in the direction you’re going.

Kelly, all of the TKDK for HK bags I’ve seen have all been plastic. Unfortunately, I’ve seen more durable faux leather bags. I have the 35th anniversary Boston bag and one brick wall has messed up the corner already :( . I have the pink Boston bag too. I’ve used it once because I’m so paranoid about something happening to it. I can see the pink foil-like handles flaking off over time. I probably won’t use them very often. Sad because they were so expensive, but I love them too much to see them destroyed.

I was super happy to see that the HK line was non-leather though. Cause the leather trim on the normal bags makes me feel really guilty. It kept me from purchasing a bag for 4 years. LOL So far, I’ve only bought second hand regular TKDK bags to soothe my guilt.

I just received my Cartolina Fascino today! I personally love my bag. When I took it out of the box, it was exactly as I expected it to be. I also fully expected it to be the canvas fabric as well so there was no disappointment in hoping it was something else.

I also got three Tokidoki pins and I believe stickers in my package. I’ll have to take a closer look. I got my package right before work so I only admired the bag and set aside everything else for later.

I got my Cartolina Fascino today too and I actually like mine. :) I got Tokidoki pins and stickers too. I like the placement of mine better then the one pictured. I love how it separates into 3 different sections and the middle is zippered. I am going to use it as my new baby bag because I can put my wallet and important stuff in the middle zippered section. The diapers and wipes in the other section and it leaves one section opened for other stuff like toys, snacks, or whatever else I need to bring. It’s still not as good as the old Tokidoki for Lesportsac bags or even the ones after Lesportsac but I still like it.

@lisa: I did order my bag from tokidoki.it and my bag does not look like the pictured one. I figured that since the print is incredibly busy, there is little chance of having a bad cut.

I’ve been waiting for this print for a long time and no where near me is selling at the moment. I went ahead and ordered it online, hoping for the best. For me, I was pleased.

I love the Cartolina print. That’s a true Tokidoki print. Carmella print is too plain to be Tokidoki.

    These bags aren’t LeSport?

I’m thinking bout getting the first Cartolina pictured above.

I know the bags are suposed to be “youthful” and cute but I just think THESE look VERY juvenal and tacky, The charm is awful it looks like a cheap key chain hanging there.. I wouldn’t excactly say THIS is what a Tokidoki bag should look like, In fact I think they still have a ways to go…. Again, Ill just stick with my old fantastic le Sportsac ones! :-)

I’ve called the west coast flagship Macy’s store and they said they aren’t currently receiving any shipments in the near future and they’ve recently sent back last year’s Tokidoki merchandise to the manufacturer.

I went to Macy’s the other day and they had nothing. I was surprised because usually they’re right there by the Harajuku Lovers. I did spot one lonely bag (the leopard print) at the bottom of a clearance bin. It looked pretty worn though, and I don’t think it was supposed to be there.

Macy’s & Nordstrom no longer carry the cheaper line from Tokidoki due do to many complaints and lack of intrest from the public.
**I think Tokidoki has made a grave mistake in the “new” direction.. It’s sad really, the bags used to be a an exciting fresh product, Now it’s turned into “tring” to really like it. I wish the new bags succsess but I don’t see it happening. :-(

I just received my order from tokidoki.it today. I do have to say that have very mixed reactions to the new Tokidoki pieces. I do like the return to the more detailed, upbeat prints but the use of pink plastic trim really changes the entire look and feel the bags, and that is before even factoring in the other design changes.
