Happy Holidays, everyone! I had a very tokidoki Christmas - I hope those of you who celebrate Christmas did too! I will post pictures of some of my new goodies (including my full set of Cactus Pups, which arrived at lightning speed in time for Christmas) within the next few days. I have also received more new reader tokidoki collection photos that will be posted by the end of the week.

For now, here is a quick update about some new tokidoki clothing - it looks like there will be no post-Christmas rest for our wallets! Metropark just added two new tokidoki clothing items with a Valentine’s Day theme.

First is the Adios & Ciao Ciao Love T-Shirt:

And next is an Adios & Ciao Ciao True Love Short Sleeve Hoodie - that’s a bunch of killer candy on the front, and it says “tokidoki” in big letters under the hood on the back. The hood is also lined with a cute Adios & Ciao Ciao all-over print:

This update is a combination of a report from SDCC from reader Ashley (who also took the photo below!) and a comment from bribri: There is going to be a collaboration between tokidoki and Onitsuka Tiger - a new shoe design that will be released in Spring 2008.

Ashley also reports that all of the special edition platinum Adios and Ciao Ciao toys are sold out already. And for those of you who can still make it to SDCC, Ashley was nice enough to type up the pricelist of everything that is for sale at the tokidoki booth for us!! Last night was preview night at the San Diego, CA Comic-Con, and reader Ro reported back that Simone was there the whole time signing! She said that he was very nice and signed anything you wanted him to, took pictures, etc. The tokidoki booth also had tons of merchandise on sale for prices less than on the tokidoki.it website (like girls’ t-shirts for only $20!).

It also turned out that the surprise for tokidoki fans at the STRANGEco booth were special Adios and Ciao Ciao figures in gray scale (platinum). They were exclusively available at SDCC and had a very small production run (she thinks it was under 500). Ro bought one of each and Simone signed them for her, and she sent in the following pictures to share with everyone:

The Adios and Ciao Ciao vinyl toys were released for sale on Tokidoki.it yesterday. They have also been spotted for sale in Los Angeles shops, and are expected to make their way to NYC stores within the next week.

On June 21st, Munky King is having a release party and signing for the new tokidoki Adios & Ciao Ciao vinyl toys. JapanLA is friends with Munky King, and it is right around the corner. So, Jamie at JapanLA had a great idea to have a tokidoki contest:

Whoever sends her the best picture of the most creative tokidoki creation/fanart/amazingness will win both Adios and Ciao Ciao vinyl toys signed by Simone himself!

This is your chance to create something spectacular to show your love for tokidoki, so do your best to make me something that will win you an awesome prize. Panik’s Toy Box has the Adios and Ciao Ciao vinyl toys available for pre-order. They are each 5 inches tall, cost $17.49, and are due out in June. I saw previews of these toys in a display case at NYCC this year and they are super-cute!

I had tons of fun at the New York Comic Con this past Friday - my favorite booths were My Plastic Heart (vinyl toys!) and Boshi-Basiik (super-cute hand made animal head hats!). Here is what I bought at their booths - two Moofia figures and a Boshi-Basiik hat:

More fun Tokidoki toys to collect are coming soon! Pictured above are the next Tokidoki and STRANGEco vinyl toy collaborations, which will be out in stores in May 2007. Designed by Simone Legno, the figures are named Adios (the grim reaper) and Ciao Ciao (his girlfriend). These toys will be made of rotocast vinyl and are both 6 inches tall. They will be sold individually packaged in window boxes.
