Debuting at SDCC 2008: tokidoki Kaniza

Tuesday, April 29th, 2008

Saki just wrote to let me know that she went to the TokyoPlastic custom geisha show at The Showroom on Saturday night, and saw that Simone had done a custom geisha. It is not for sale, but she took a picture to share with all of us. It’s cute!

Then I checked out Saki’s blog, Saki Wrote What?!! and saw that there is a tokidoki Kaniza vinyl figure being released at SDCC ‘08. It will be limited to 1,000 pieces.

More NYCC 2008 Photos and Review

Friday, April 25th, 2008

I have received some additional photos from NYCC from Iman and Cleofe, so here they are! But first, a really fun review - and video! - of the event from Alex:

“I’d like to share that my twin sister Juli and I were at NYCC this weekend and it was an amazing experience! I actually went to Simone autograph signing on Friday in a Mozzarella costume! Everyone on line for autographs gave me lots of positive feedback, warm regards and even took pics with me :] It was really awesome! By the time it was my turn to get an autograph from Simone I was a nervous wreck ahah. It was incredible though to see how excited he was to see me in my costume. He signed my Mozzarella toy and then asked for a pic with me and such. I asked him to sign my costume and he told me it was hard to draw on. I replied that he could just scribble on my costume and it would be fine. I snagged a picture of him and was very pleased :] While my sister was getting her drawing done, he made sure to point out Mozzarella’s boyfriend, Bulleto to us. We told him that we were twins and that we’d probably start working on that costume next! Then we grabbed a pic with him and proceeded to go buy lots of stuff from the TD booth next to him. Overall, it was a really incredible experience to get to meet him. We wouldn’t trade it for the world!”

Alex also has a video of her meeting with Simone to share - pay close attention to the first few seconds when Simone spots her costume, it is awesome!!

Ro Reports on the tokidoki Goodness at San Diego Comic-Con Preview Night

Thursday, July 26th, 2007

Last night was preview night at the San Diego, CA Comic-Con, and reader Ro reported back that Simone was there the whole time signing! She said that he was very nice and signed anything you wanted him to, took pictures, etc. The tokidoki booth also had tons of merchandise on sale for prices less than on the tokidoki.it website (like girls’ t-shirts for only $20!).

It also turned out that the surprise for tokidoki fans at the STRANGEco booth were special Adios and Ciao Ciao figures in gray scale (platinum). They were exclusively available at SDCC and had a very small production run (she thinks it was under 500). Ro bought one of each and Simone signed them for her, and she sent in the following pictures to share with everyone:

San Diego Comic-Con to Feature tokidoki Booth and Simone Signing

Monday, July 23rd, 2007

Reader Ro let me know that in addition to tokidoki having a booth at the San Diego, CA Comic-Con this year, Simone will also be there in person signing on Thursday, July 26th at the STRANGEco booth (#4729) from noon-1:30pm. STRANGEco will also feature another surprise for tokidoki fans at their booth, which looks like it will be the Adios and Ciao Ciao vinyl toys.

The San Diego Comic-Con starts July 25th (preview night) and is open to the public July 26th - July 29th. To everyone who goes, have fun!! I wish there had been a tokidoki booth at the NYC Comic-Con this year.

Comic-Con (NYCC) Photos!

Monday, February 26th, 2007

I had tons of fun at the New York Comic Con this past Friday - my favorite booths were My Plastic Heart (vinyl toys!) and Boshi-Basiik (super-cute hand made animal head hats!). Here is what I bought at their booths - two Moofia figures and a Boshi-Basiik hat:

And here are some photos of the highlights of NYCC - the first 2 photos are of Boshi-Basiik’s and My Plastic Heart’s booths, and the third photo is another look at the prototypes of the upcoming Ciao Ciao and Adios vinyl toys:

New York Comic-Con - NYCC

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

I am going to the New York Comic Con tomorrow night at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC and I can’t wait! There should be lots of cool vinyl toys to check out there. It will be my first Comic Con - is anyone else going? I will be sure to bring my camera so that I can come back and post a full report here!
