Saturday, June 21st, 2008I just received my Skeletrino and Skeletrina vinyl toys from The Giant Peach – that was quick! They are soOoO cute that I think they are my new favorite toys (of course, I think I say that every time a new tokidoki toy gets released – but they do just keep getting cuter & cuter!). Here they are making themselves right at home in a cozy corner of my toy shelf already:

SDCC tokidoki Exclusive Dunny and Simone Signing
Monday, June 16th, 2008Readers Janet and Sophie let me know that there is an announcement in the kidrobot forums that this year’s SDCC exclusive tokidoki designed vinyl toy will be the 8 inch dunny pictured below (retail price: $50).
And for those who have been wondering, Simone Legno will be signing these exclusive dunnys from 11am-2pm at SDCC on July 27th.
Reader Bridget also let me know that there will be a mini tokyoplastic geisha designed by Simone Legno as a ToyTokyo exclusive at the SDCC next month. She saw it at the ToyTokyo offices and will try to snap a picture for us before SDCC.

It will cost $40 at the ToyTokyo booth at SDCC, and it is approximately 4 inches tall.

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008Remember this tokidoki x Zakkamono collaboration toy that caused a minor ruckus back in February?
The tokidoki Miao is available for pre-order now on the Zakkamono website with an estimated ship date of June 2008. It stands over 9″ tall, weighs in at over 3 pounds 7″ tall, and retails for $80. Thanks to Noah for letting me know!
New tokidoki Jewelry, Watches, and Toys

Well, tokidoki just let me know that the necklace will be officially released as an exclusive to shop.tokidoki.it customers only – hopefully later in the day today! It will retail for $45, be limited to 250 pieces, and there will be a new shop.tokidoki.it homepage design to celebrate its release.

Vicky from Chicki just received her shipment of new 2008 European tokidoki jewelry and took photos of it to share with us. The pendants are BIG! She took some photos of the necklaces on mannequins to give us a helpful sense of scale.
Vicky also let me know that she just got an e-mail confirming the release of the Skeletrino and Skeletrina vinyl toys. They will be in stores by mid to late June. The USA retail price will be $10.95 each, and the UK retail price will be about £6.95 each. Here is a photo of them that I ganked from Vinyl Pulse:

Jamie from JapanLA just sent me photos of the latest tokidoki watches – Razor, Pizza Mia, and Solar. She said that she is already sold out of the Razor watch (which is my favorite!), but can special order it for people.
Debuting at SDCC 2008: tokidoki Kaniza
Tuesday, April 29th, 2008Saki just wrote to let me know that she went to the TokyoPlastic custom geisha show at The Showroom on Saturday night, and saw that Simone had done a custom geisha. It is not for sale, but she took a picture to share with all of us. It’s cute!
Then I checked out Saki’s blog, Saki Wrote What?!! and saw that there is a tokidoki Kaniza vinyl figure being released at SDCC ’08. It will be limited to 1,000 pieces.
New Moofia Vinyl Toy: Bulletto
Monday, April 21st, 2008Reader Maarten just pointed out a post on Vinyl Pulse announcing a new tokidoki Moofia vinyl toy called Bulleto that is due out in the summer. Bulletto is the male counterpart to Mozzarella and will come packaged with the vinyl shotgun shells pictured.
Moofia Mystery Figures Found on eBay

UPDATE: These 3 figures have been added to the Moofia blind box series, and myplasticheart will be releasing them at the New York Comic Con, along with a Platinum edition Sandy vinyl toy. (Thanks to Hazeleger in the comments for the info.)

Friday, April 4th, 2008Reader Bridget just let me know that tokidoki and Medicom Toy will be releasing a Be@rbrick tokidoki design soon – I did a little research and found that it will retail for $19.99 and be available in mid-April. It will be limited to to just 1,000 pieces, and is 3″ tall.
I found them available for pre-order on Tenacious Toys, who also lists this piece as a “100% Tokidoki ToyTokyo North America Exclusive.”

Pool Trade Show Pictures – Including New Product Sneak Peaks!
Tuesday, February 26th, 2008Thank you to Leah for pointing out that tokidoki just posted pictures from the Pool Trade show to their blog – including sneak peeks at some new t-shirt designs (I see popcorn guy!!), hats, toys (including the Sandy and Mozzarella plush dolls once again, and if you bump your screen resolution up to 800×600 and look closely you’ll also see a black Skeletrino and a purple Skeletrina), sneaker-boots, jewelry, and BAGS. If you look closely at the pictures, you can see at least three different prints (Carnival and Concerto Punk, I believe, plus the new solid black) and a few different bag styles. One photo also shows the new Adios keychain design.
New Vinyl Toy from tokidoki x Zakkamono Collaboration
Friday, February 22nd, 2008An anonymous reader just pointed out a post on ToysREvil announcing the upcoming release of a new vinyl toy called Miao the Lucky Cat, who comes paired with a smaller character called Mousubi. The 7″ tall figure was sculpted by Zakka, the color artwork and package design was done by Simone of tokidoki, and the figure will be produced by Zakkamono. This collaboration will be limited to 500 pieces, with a tentative release date of April 2008. No pricing info is available yet. Miao will retail for $80 plus shipping and handling (thanks, LMJ, for the looking into this!). Here is a picture, courtesy of ToysREvil – they have a couple more up as well:
Rumor Confirmed: There WILL Be a New Line of tokidoki Bags Coming Soon
Monday, February 11th, 2008Many thanks to Saki for sending me a link to an interview with Simone at JoshSpear.com that includes all sorts of exciting info, including confirmation that there definitely will be a new line of bags branded only as tokidoki – “but made by same people behind LeSportsac; same team, same factories.”

Other exciting news, all lifted from the interview: the next cactus friends toy released will be the cactus punk character! That will be a must have for me. Also coming soon are “tokidoki denim in Europe; the two cats of adios and ciao ciao called Skeletrino and Skeletrina; a new line of New Era hats; mimobots; plushes; new lines of watches, jewelry, and other cool stuff.”
ANNNDD – there are plans to open a tokidoki store in the USA in 2009. Simone is “looking for a location.”
