My tokidoki Collection
This page will catalog my entire tokidoki collection. Currently all of my bags are posted and I am working my way through posting all of my clothes, toys, and accessories. I started my collection in June of 2006. This is what my tokidoki bag collection looked like in June of 2007 (yup, that’s me with it!). In the following years, it spiraled far, far more out of control…
…and is currently being downsized as I prepare to move. At some point I may post every bag I have ever owned here (which would be a LOT!).

Jay – I have so many favorites: Buon Viaggio, Campeggio, Ciao Ciao, Ciao, Bambinone, Stellina…
Lorelei – Thanks! I hope you enjoy your new bags! I do use the Ciao Ciao as a purse sometimes. And as far as I know, none of those characters are named.
Deborah – I have not seen a fake with the colored hardware before.
THank you for your input! What would you suggest after the zucca? I LOVE the size of it, (I carry way too much!) and how it sits nicely on the body. Would the buon viaggio be close? The mamma mia looks too small and I love the ciao style but am thinking it would be a pain to get in and out of and deal with my toddler at the same time
do you wear the stelling like a purse or like a messenger? And the campeggio just seems so Big. any ideas? thanks again for all your help!
Jay – If you check the dimensions, the Mamma Mia and the Zucca are kind of close to each other; it’s just that the Zucca is taller where the Mamma Mia is wider. The Buon Viaggio is roughly 1 1/2 inches bigger each dimension than the Mamma Mia. You might want to consider the Scuola backpack or the Nuvola backpack if you have a lil critter you have to run after! They’re big, but not tooooo big. The Ciao Ciao is quite long and quite wide, but it has no depth, which does compensate for its hugeness. The Ciao is CONSIDERABLY smaller than the Ciao Ciao. My final answer to you? Try the two backpacks. I want a Scuola for my next bag!
todidoki blog – I got the L’Amore Mamma Mia on Saturday and it’s just ADORABLE and it has perfect pattern placement! My favorites on it are the coffee cups with the baby bean and the cow bottles with the baby cow bottle with the nipple on it!
tokidoki blog and Jay – I carry everything but the kitchen sink, and all of my stuff fits in the Mamma Mia. In it I can put: a small purse that has all of my medications in it, my overstuffed checkbook size wallet, my hard eyeglass case, my little address book, a small notebook, a calculator, a pen, three sets of keys, a checkbook (in addition to the wallet), a Motorola V3M cell phone, and various little prayer cards and a Rosary. And all of the stuff fits with a little wiggle room, so nothing is jammed together and there is no stress on the zipper.
Lorelei,
thank you! The only thing, are the straps on the mamma mia short? I saw one lady carrying what I think was the mamma mia and it looked a little short like it kept falling off her shoulder. So, that’s why I was thinking the buon viaggio route. Thank you for your input though. Hmm, maybe I will try a backpack. It seems a little silly for me to get ANOTHER zucca. we’ll see…..
Lorelei, sorry forgot to ask. Is the scola a pain to get into? It looks like you have to lift that belted part to get into it. Anyone??
Jay – The straps on the Mamma Mia are just big enough to get them over your shoulder. I don’t have a problem most of the time holding the bag on my shoulder, as it fits snugly under my arm because of the shortness of the straps, but I know what you mean and the bag really can’t be used as a “shoulder bag.” You wouldn’t be able to shop with it over your shoulder because you wouldn’t be able to move your arm around freely without the bag slipping down it, but it’s a safe bag to walk down the street with because it would be hard to for it to get snatched with it so snug under your arm. Too bad LeSportsac didn’t offer a detachable shoulder strap for their Mamma Mia and Buon Viaggio. You might want to consider the Ciao Ciao. You could put your toddler’s snacks and small toys in it along with your own stuff, for like when you go to Church with your toddler, etc., and it has a nice long adjustable strap. I’ve never had one of the backpacks and I haven’t had the pleasure of handling one in person in a store. To me it doesn’t look like either backpack style would be a problem getting on or off.
Hey Lorelei, thanks for your feedback. Do you know how a ciao works? Does that one fold over like the ciao ciao or does it just have the zipper part? Thanks again for all your help. There is so much to learn!
The Ciao and the Ciao Ciao are exactly the same, except the Ciao is two thirds the size of the Ciao Ciao. Neither one has any depth, so you need to make sure the length and the width of the bag are enough to accommodate the items you want to carry.
I tried to post this response to you I don’t know how many times last night, and it would never take!
Thank you Lorelei. I see what you mean. Those may not work for me since I carry way too much stuff. I’ve done that too where I try to post and it won’t let me…maybe a lot of other people were leaving responses too and flooding it? Hmm….thank you again for your help!
Lorelei – I just found your 4 frustrated posts stuck in my spam queue this morning, I am so sorry! This blog automatically sends posts with two or more links in them to my moderation queue (since spammers notoriously include tons of links in their posts). So if that happens to you again, just wait it out and I will approve your posts as soon as I see them. ♥
Jay – You would probably do OK with the Ciao Ciao. I put an overstuffed checkbook sized wallet, a checkbook in addition to that, a credit card holder, a hard eyeglass case, three sets of keys, a small Liz Claiborne purse (that is slightly smaller than a Tokidoki Bella bag) that I keep all of my medications in, a small address book, a calculator, a pen, a small notebook, and a Rosary and some prayer cards in it and they are SWIMMING in it. I could put three times the amount in it! I think the Ciao would be too small, though, because again, neither bag has depth. But the Ciao Ciao definitely has enough length and width to make up for the lack of depth. I think I could definitely shove a box of animal crackers and some toys in the Ciao Ciao bag along with the stuff already in it. Like I’ve said before, the Ciao Ciao really is almost too big for me! And coming from me, that says a lot!
Jay – My posts that went to tokidoki blog’s spam box had links to eBay listings that showed a Ciao and a Ciao Ciao. Those particular listings had good mutliple photos and excellent measurements, etc. in the descriptions. Those two particular bags are gone, but the eBay store, cozy-little-shop, is on this blog’s legitimate seller list, and all of their Tokidoki bags are listed on eBay the same way – with multiple photos from all sides and angles and measurements in the descriptions.
tokidoki blog – Sorry about that! But now I know for next time!
Thank You Lorelei again for all your help. You read my mind and were very thorough. I love how the ciao ciao looks. Do you wear yours as a purse or a messenger? Is it a pain to have to keep opening the flap or no? I know they sold out fast and seem to be pretty popular. I am definetely leaning towards getting one. THanks!
Jay – I’m not sure what you mean when you’re asking if I wear the Ciao Ciao as a purse or as a messenger. Are you asking whether I put the strap over one shoulder or sling it across my body? I use it as a purse. I don’t even know what using it as a messenger means. (Yeah, my stupidity is showing. It does that every once in a while.)
I don’t think opening the flap is a pain, because I’m just happy that my stuff is secure. What you could probably do is this: There’s a large zipper section under the flap on the front of the bag. I’m sure your wallet and keys and other “quick grab purse-type things” will fit in that section just fine. Then you’ll just have to lift up the flap a little bit to unzip that section to pull your everyday purse-type stuff out. You can use the gigantic section of the purse that you access by unzipping the flap for storing your child’s stuff like their toys, crackers, etc. The tiny little zip compartment on the back of the bag is best for your cell phone. This way you’ll have easy access to your cell phone.
The most wonderful thing about the Ciao Ciao bag, besides its roominess, is that you get the entire pattern on it. I have the Ciao Ciao in the Adios Star pattern. I bought it on eBay from a seller who is on this blog’s list of legit sellers, and my bag is definitely legit. It has the most wonderful print placement, and it has Bastardino, Cactus Sandy, both Moolattes, Nero, the grim reaper baby, the Japanese baby, the candle, the tulip, Fantasimo, the skull and cross bones, Cactus Sandy’s boyfriend, the yellow candy bat, the pink candy, the rainbow with clouds, the peach girl, the white star girl, the yellow pepper, the skull apple, part of the green poison apple, and part of the goldfish. You’re just not going to get as much of a pattern like Adios Star on a smaller bag or on a bag that is made out of many parts sewn together (like the Gioco, the Bella, or the backpacks). This is the eBay link for my exact purchase if you want to see my Ciao Ciao bag:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300222499 842
Oh, yeah, and my Ciao Ciao bag also has almost all of the black star with the Japanese girl in it at the bottom of the bag. There’s a lot to miss with the Adios Star pattern!
I would like to know everyone’s opinion on the Tokidoki bags that are solid colored on the outside and have the print for the lining. I am looking at one on eBay that I do like, but I wonder if I’m missing out on something by not having the pattern on the outside of the bag. I don’t know if my doubt means that I shouldn’t get it, or what. Has anyone else here wanted one but had a lingering doubt about missing out on something because the pattern is on the inside instead of the outside? Has anyone here purchased a solid colored one and then been disappointed?
Thanks again Lorelei. It’s funny I did not realize it til you pointed it out, but yeah, I meant if you wore it as a purse or across your body
And, I like the different pockets for stuff! That was my concern about the whole keys, phone, wallet, etc. And, the one you got is sooooooooo cute! That’s a good price too, huh? I’m so happy for you! I myself am getting carried away with something that started with ONE BAG obsession (or at least that’s what I told myself) hee hee.
Jay – Yeah, I know what you mean about the obsession. I originally only wanted the L’Amore Mamma Mia that I won on eBay (again, from a seller listed on this blog as legit and yes, thankfully, the bag is legit). Here’s the link for the one I won: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=300226649 616
I had also been watching the Ciao Ciao I bought at the same time I was watching the Mamma Mia. Right after I won the Mamma Mia, I immediately bought the Ciao Ciao because I was in love with the pattern and the pattern placement on that particular bag so much and, like you said, the price was unbelievable! As a matter of fact, the price was so unbelievable I had e-mailed the seller to ask if it was “Tokidoki Inspired.” The seller e-mailed back right away asking me to check out their feedback and their store to see that they only sold genuine Tokidoki. So I did that and felt comfortable buying the bag, so I jumped right on it. I didn’t find this blog until after I won my Mamma Mia and bought my Ciao Ciao, but God was looking out for me because it turned out that they both came from sellers listed on this blog as legitimate sellers, and after comparing the bags to the info. posted on this blog about spotting fakes I can definitely safely say that the bags are legit.
Now I’m watching a Tokidoki in the solid white color but, like I said in a post above, I’m worried about being disappointed with the pattern being the lining and not on the outside of the bag. But they look so beautiful in the solid white! (The lining for the solid white (Bianco) bags is the Adios Star pattern.) Maybe I just need to be worried about getting it dirty after using it for five minutes! What’s really weird is all of the solid colored Tokidokis go for less than the ones with the outside patterns, but even weirder is the black (Notte) ones go for a lot more than the white (Bianco) ones. As a matter of fact, I’m starting to notice that a few of the Notte bags are going for as much as the patterned ones! It must have something to do with the black ones not showing dirt. Black is my favorite color, but if I had to choose between two Tokidokis for the same price and one is solid black and the other is patterned, I think I would choose the patterned one.
Hey Lorelei,
I agree with you. I think I would rather have a pattern on the outside but I think the reason people get the notte or even bianco is because maybe they want something different and not so bright, or they just want any tokidoki at all. That’s how I felt before I bought my first one. I wanted a little something on the inside (for myself to look at) but maybe not for the whole world to see and gawk at. But then, I thought, forget it, I like to look at the big print. That is the only reason I can think. And yeah, I notice the bianco is not too popular, I can’t imagine how to keep it clean! Black hids stains way easier. I am thinking of buying a notte bella bella. I will let you know if I am pleased with it or bummed that the print is on the inside. But, I plan to use it as a purse when I dash out the door kind of thing! also, I gotta say, i’ve had my eyes on a ciao ciao…..that one may be next!!!
I guess the quees, ball chains, and rainbow zippers really stand out nicely on the solid colored Tokidoki bags.
wow!
this is a sick collection
I only have 3 bags
2 backpacks and a handbag
they are sooo expensive
you must’ve spent a fortune!
just LOVE your collection!!! you must’ve spent a lot of money.but love your foresta denaro! ^_^
Can the Tokidoki LeSportsac media cases large enough for a Sidekick LX?
sorry if english suck! haha
Kyoko M. – Which bag are you calling the “media case?” The Portatelefono?
Hi, Im Änni fron Germany! I love Tokidoki and I bought planty staff already in Ebay. Now I want to own my own Le spotsac Tokidoki bag.
But in Germany you find it nowhere!
Can you sell me a bag and send it to me???
PLEASE! I love it!
Kyoko M – If you are talking about the Portatelefono.. the answer is Barely…
here’s the dimension…
Sidekick LX: 5.1 x 2.36 x 0.7 in
Portatelefono 5 x 3″ x 1.5 in
hi
just wonder if you can let me know if the paradiso Bambinone has silver chain or brownish yellow chain? thanks
angie- silver chain
Ok, maybe a weird question… but do you keep the tags on any of your bags? I’ve seen a few people walking around with them on…
Marlena- I dont…
but one of my friend did.. first, she is lazy to take of the *black* tag.. also .. she find it cute to leave it on as it is…
Marlena – No, I don’t. Once I start using a bag, the tags come right off!
i’ve recently become a huge tokidoki fan and wow – such a great way to see the history of tokidoki bags by looking through your collection! thanks!
i love your collection. i’ve recently become a tokidoki fan.so far i have three bags
and I also have the large shopper tote you have from the Pool Trade show, except i got mine from the san diego comic-con. i was so excited when i saw people carrying them that i decided to hunt them down and luckily they were selling them. I also have a question, i ordered my first tokidoki shirt online and was wondering if a size medium would be an okay fit since i usually wear a small in shirts because i heard that tokidoki shirts can run small.
I have been a tokidoki fan for a couple years now.. And wow great bags!! I am trying really hard to find a Gioco in Paradiso print. No luck! Or when I do find one its on ebay for 400 bucks. =( Sad!! I want one so bad!
i loveee the l’amore print, anyone know how much was the retail price of the denaro back then? thanks!
Thanks again everyone for your kind words.
jan – You probably have your answer about the tee already, but I’m thinking it should have fit you ok.
amy – The retail price was $68, which you can also find on my Tokidoki Bag Archive page.
ohhhh gotcha – thank you so much – that’s so helpful!!!
Hi, i just spend a good portion of my work day touring your site
great information and an awesome collection!
IF you ever decide in the future to sell any of your Foresta bags, please let me know, I’d be more than interested to buy one! Thanks!
WHERE CAN I FIND TOKIDOKI CAR ACCESSORIES?
heey,
i juss bought one of the tokidoki bags..
i want to know how you can tell if it’s a fake or not.
Cause i bought it on one of those stands in the malls..
But it looks real and it has the Le Sportsac label on it.
But those little card thingies that show the character..
it doesn’t have a chain thiny to hold it on to the purse,
it has just a normal thing like when you purchase something like how it has a price tag, it has a normal thing to keep it together..
Was that i knock off?
can i find all this stuff in Malaysia?
I was just wondering if you knew of any places, or websites that sell the original tokidoki print – 2006 spring. i live in hawaii and have searched everywhere online. please help!
bella and Elisa – On eBay.
i’m green with envy!!!!! (but only *one* pirata??? that just makes me sad – its my fave!!! (-;)
i would love to see the entire famiglia print. it’s like it never repeats!
where did you find those other plastic qees? i love them! are they still available anywhere?
smoke_monster – I bought my other qees on eBay last year – not sure if they are still available or not. And I used to have two Pirata bags, but I sold them both because I never used them. I’m just not a Pirata fan. ;|
are you selling your Vacanze Denaro?
carolene man – Nope, sorry!
this is the most impressive collection i have ever seen! U r amazing!
tokidoki blog,
According to your pics, why only one luna?
I’m thinking of purchasing one…what are your thoughts on the style?
Mahalo!
puasmommy – Hmm, tough question, I guess one Luna is just enough for me. I had two for awhile but I have been downsizing my collection and trying to get it down to a more reasonable/usable size. I just don’t travel often enough to need more than one of the travel bags. The Luna is a great travel bag though!
